Characters: MC the only interesting one in OPM.
Animation: Yes. The sakuga is actually great.
Themes: Quite superficial. A superhero community responding to assorted threads and that's about it. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with it though, IMO.

I like quite a few of the characters in OPM. And despite that the main character is an invincible god, much of the story revolves around everyone else, and their struggles prior to his arrival.

I think it's pretty good, but you know how /a/ is, they'll call anything shit.

Just fucking read/watch it. If you don't like it, you'll find out pretty quick.
