Nobody actually reads Maken-Ki for the story as it really sucks ass. The antagonist is a shitty cliche villain and something about the fights are boring. I can hardly tell what's going on anymore with the plot. Something about an evil OP dude who got reborn or some shit and now wants to crush Tenbi and rule over everyone, and then something-something wants to obtain god powers in the process. Probably not accurate but that is the gist of it I bet.

Takeda Hiromitsu's character art is the only selling point and that's all it will ever be for this manga.

I buy DA monthly for other manga series and you really aren't missing much in terms of scans. Vol 17 covered a lot and only like 3 generic shounen fight chapters are the ones missing at this point, including the new issue released today.
