Yeah. The Fuyuki Grail is a lesser grail however and doesn't have unlimited power. The three families originally created it to give them access to the Spiral of Origin, so they didn't manufacture a "true" grail since they didn't need that much power to access the Root.

Once Avenger was introduced into the Grail it corrupted any wish, and presumably you could no longer use it to access the Root. If you were to skim the Avenger material out of the grail however it would go back to normal and could be used to make limited wishes or access the Spiral of Origin.

Nasu was exploring all of F/SN's themes except for its core one (what it means to be a hero) and plenty others in Kara no Kyoukai and Tsukihime long before, largely because the Nasuverse is founded on principle philosophical conceits that are consistent throughout Nasu's works. Souren Araya's motivation ties into Kiritsugu's/EMIYA's suppositions about saving people long before Fate ever came to be.

Most of his characters are variations of his previous writings. He mashes them together to create something new or tries to flash out a character he thought had bigger potential. Story themes and overall plot often mirrors something he wrote in the past too. He often has mono no aware present in his works. Originally he was inspired by Evangelion which shows in his works starting from Mahoyo and Angel Notes. Nowadays he doesn't even bother anymore since Fate allows him to reuse characters left and right.

Nasu reuses, mixes, mutates in his works everything he can. Everything new is a rehashed old sometimes with some fresh additions. But it's how the world is. Everything new is well-forgotten old. Following this rule he can spin stories non-stop.

Illya is a properly crafted grail. Sakura is a kitbash of a couple of stray grail pieces submerged in Angry Manjew's mud, and doesn't work as expected.

Illya's magic circuit let her perform magecraft by getting straight to the result, bypassing the methodology, so having a large energy source as the Lesser Grail turn her into an omnipotent wish granting device. Sakura, not even Zouken know what would happen to her

No, the mud is a byproduct of Angra Mainyu, who is inside the greater grail. The lesser grail still has to make contact to the greater grail, Illya will spill mud everywhere no matter what happens.
