3.0 is a mess. It's not smart neither well directed, but an inconsistent mess that not only presents this broken shinji, but also makes it so unbearable lost that the movie just lost any sort of clear direction or purpose.
It's just a real mess motivated that tries to convey this message of a more unstable and lost shinji, but by doing that just shit all over what they were trying to do the last movie. It's just suffering for the sake of suffering. Why would I want to put myself through such torture? I mean I saw the original evangelion with the movie, and despite being emotionally exhausting at times, it had at least some redeeming moments, and the suffering was justified by the progress and points the movie tried to tell to the spectator.
3.0 it's just senseless suffering. It's Anno doing a pretty hack thing and expecting the fans to say "bravo, anno" just because Shinji is in pain most of the time. Fuck Anno.
