They don't care about the cards. They care about the anime. The whole point of giving Arc-V low ratings is because they HATE Ono and Kamishiro and Arc-V. They don't want to see that shit ever again. They'll just make the next show similar to Zexal/DM and Konami will make cards tailored to that show. They don't really have much control over the anime as compared to Shueisha/NAS.

When it comes to legacy characters from past Yugioh spin-offs into ARC-V, it's an all or nothing kind of deal. Leaving the 2 GX characters in will make people wonder where are ones for 5D's and ZEXAL and so on. In this case, I'd rather have no legacy characters, especially when they're alternate versions that only share the previous series version's name, face, and basic deck theming. Edo and Asuka barely doing anything or in Edo's case, most notable for throwing a tantrum and being another egao victim, didn't help for their characters and disappointed/pissed off GX fans who wanted to see them return.

Worst of all is that the legacy characters did ruin more than just that, they also ruined even more potential from the characters original to ARC-V. Just imagine if Edo's role as the final antagonist for the Xyz arc was done by the Tyler sisters, and Noro to some extent, instead. As for Asuka, you happen to know anyone else that was an Academia defector and was also known for rescuing Yuzu? Something that happened in a certain episode 83 that made 103 feel too much of the same?
