I was counting HGSS as gen 2. Platinum definitely made some improvements, but still didn't fix the core issues with gen 4, those being the pacing, boring villain team and gyms, the horrible looking 3D environments, the map being too large, and the new pokemon designs largely being trash.

Counting the remakes of gens where possible (1 being FRLG, 2 being HGSS, 3 being ORAS):
3 > 5 > 2 > 1 > 6 > 4

Arceus is another story. The anime dub made it 'ar-kee-us' apparently to avoid saying 'arse' for European countries (I'm not joking, this is true as far as I know) because the real pronounciation is supposed to be 'ar-see-us.' The anime pronounciation has been standardized into everything since, I believe, but the correct version was used in Pokemon Battle Revolution in 2007.

A third one, 'ar-say-us,' is out there but the only time I've ever heard it is from the earliest English teaser of the Arceus movie.

It's "Arkeus" because its root word is "arc" or "arch," both pronounced ark. It doesn't matter how the Japs pronounce it. They also pronounce Genesect with a hard G, when the root word is clearly "gene" or "genesis" which is soft.

They even fucking named Sivally's ability "RKS System." They can't make it any clearer. Arkeus is correct.

I will never really understand why so many people completely gush over Generations and Origins while shitting on the regular anime. They're really not that different, and nothing about Generations stand out from the regular anime except maybe for the Old Chateau episode. I guess people really have a gripe with it and like things that are fresh, at least on the surface.

It's hard to tell if the manga did it first, or if it wad that one line in FRLG which was the origin of this. However it was confirmed during HGSS if you had Cerebii and watched the special scene.
