Honestly I truly believe if Aniplex didn't shill Yuki Kajiura constantly in their hype shit she'd be utterly irrelevant. She hasn't varied her sound even remotely in years and just isn't all that interesting anymore. Shes just another name they slap onto stuff that is popular because she's in popular stuff. Nobody is going to be remembering the soundtracks from things like SAO and Erased a few years from now I can say that mich

Like her only good soundtrack this decade IMO. At least it had some track that stood out and her whole neo Gothic shtick actually worked well with he content. There are other composers like Hayashi or Yokoyama or Tatsuya Koto to name a few putting out some solid soundtracks but because Aniplex always manages to control the message and popularity everyone is completely stuck on Sawano and Kajiura same generic hype soundtrack stuff. It's a pretty shitty time to be a fan of anime soundtracks not because of what's out there but because people suck at noticing more than two mass marketed ones
