Because KnK was an incoherent mess and generally speaking all over the place but the episodes he directs in other people's shows are usually among the best. I also don't feel like VEG fits him all that feel.

I think it fits him perfectly. Ishidate is at his best when he's working with the little details which is one of the LN's strengths.

I just hope they fit as much fanservice as possible, because hot girls is the only thing that kyoani gets right.
