I think its partly this anon.

I also think he was just stupid as a writer.
His main talent was, and still is, his incredible artistic talent.
Hell he started drawing manga so he could draw cool shit with a story.

After a while he started writing week to week and he isn't a talented enough writer to pull this off.
You can see it getting slowly worse and starting to repeat itself because he didn't give himself time to write a plot line.
After he realizes the story is going to shit you can see the art deteriorate because he's no longer invested.

If he had stopped and thought about what he needed to cover, characters he needed to develop (Arrancars and Vizards all had lots of potential as did Ichigo's human friends. Looking at you Tatsukifags)

After he starts the Fullbring Arc you can see that the ideas he does have are executed poorly, and the art reflects the fact he recognizes this.
I also don't think his editors done their job correctly by not telling him to stop, take a break, and THINK.

Its honestly just down to his inability to stop and think about a story he could really get behind and love as much as the first few Arcs that also filled up a few plot holes.

Shūkurō Tsukishima was a character from the Fullbringer arc.

/a/ nick named him "Facebook" because of how his power worked.

Kubo in an interview mentioned that he copypasted Yamada's brother design to create Tsukishima because he liked the design too much to leave it on a side character.

So basically Yamada's brother got his design stolen and given to other character.

He had all the pieces of one of the best battle shounen to ever be written.

I think we all had characters that we'd have wanted to see more of, and IchiRukifags were never ever going to be happy because they were delusional, but overlal he had the pieces there.

He also had the rumored Hell Arc to go to as an alternate route.

Bleach will always remain wasted potential as it stands.

Honestly I'm incredibly disappointed with Kubo.
He had it all there to give it an incredible ending.
The ending it deserved.

Yet he wasted it all.

Possibly, but I'm still glad he tried his hand at a battle shounen.- and he gave it a bloody good shot, lets be honest.
Japanese Ghost Busters and Attack on Ghost were incredibly fun to read.

Mexico did feel repetitive (as in a rehash of the previous Arc) and lifeless (landscape) but it was still a good deal of fun to read and to watch.

In all honesty anons I want Kubo to write again.
I know I've criticized him a lot, we all have, but he gave me some fantastic memories during my childhood years.

His artwork is incredible when he's honestly committed.

And honestly I think he's a pretty likable guy.

If/when he draws again I'll give him another chance.

You know, I used to ship Ichigo and Rukia casually before the other shippers went insane, and it occurred to me as the final chapter dropped that even if Kubo had thrown them a bone and paired Ichigo and Rukia together, it would not have made the ending any less clusterfucked. Ichihime took some getting used to but once it was canon, I was surprised by how natural it felt. The only natural part of the last chapter to be honest.

Shocking enough I was a Nelfag from the minute Neliel was revealed so I think I'm a little more objective than Rukiafags or Orihimefags on this subject.

Basically everyone else is honestly.

It honestly always seemed apparent to me that Orihime was Ichigo's perfect partner.

Ichigo the cold, emotionally repressed kid who is overly shy being paired with the outgoing, quirky girl who only acts that way to cover up her emotional damage.

On top of that she's the girl he fights along side, and by Mexico it was completely obvious to everyone, or should have been.

We could have had two stories in Bleach if Kubo actually put this in mind. Ichigo's adventures would be Soul Society affairs and Tatsuki's would be the human world. That way Kubo could focus on characters on both spectrums instead of shafting. The finale could possible include an intersection.

Ichigo died with the soul society arc yeah, but it had nothing to do with ichiruki. Kubo's passion started to go down the tubes and the scenarios, characters,and situations just seemed less fresh and fun at the time. I barely remember any of the fights during the orhime rescue arc, and the ones I do remember seemed dull and boring compared tot he soul society fights.

Yeah a lot of the characters in the soul society arc started off as no names but we got to know them better making the later fights really intense. Before we even get to the Espada we have to wade our way through several chapters of boring dull fights against literal whos. They're not even quick and fun fights they just drag. As a writer this, I think, is what really killed Bleach for Kubo. Not being rushed. Not Bleach getting too popular for his skills (although yeah, probably,) but Kubo blowing his creative load for the first part of the series and just shrugging his shoulders after the SS arc wrapped up.

Not that other anon but I'm also a writer. When you're writing a story, obviously you have to start with a first draft. When you're jotting down your first draft you just write them down, you don't care if it makes sense. Afterwords you go back, read it several times over, and make sure what you actually read makes sense.

What terrifies me is that it seems that Kubo completely skipped the second process and published what amounts to a rough draft he slapped together without checking it over. He went ahead and published something that most writers know is going to suck. I think that's the biggest sign that he really didn't give a shit.

Hueco Mundo is a fucking joke, probably it will take several decades if not more for Vasto Lordes to appear again, and if some exist atm they certainly will not make a war against the SS considering they are mostly loners and that the SS won that war, is safe to assume that any hollow or arrancar invasion is highly unlikely ever again.
All the quincy with captain level got murdered on the war one way or another.
The only realistic source of possible conflict would be someone like Mayuri turning against the Gotei, and even someone like him got his own loli to chill with.

We all know that and since Kubo is not going to write more of this shit then canon peace is all left.

Kubo always struck me as a guy who just wanted to draw and write cool shit. So he did. He just went with what he thought was cool in any given situation, and when it came time to try and connect the pieces and wrap things up, he had no fucking idea what to do.

It is also no secret that he had a strained relationship with his editors.

This shitshow of an ending is due to

1. Kubo created a story that completely got out of hand
2. He became frustrated with it, and the nagging of editors also fueled his resentment
3. He just wanted to wrap this shit up and move on with his life.

Was there ever a more useless character than Hisagi? Especially in regards to the final arc?

Hisagi was most likely supposed to have a really big moment if the series wouldn't have been cancelled. The setup was perfect. He had trained Bankai, his captain died and he himself didn't accomplish much during the invasion. Him using Bankai during the remaining seven days is simply one of the many set up plot points that were cut short, like the betrayal of Ichibee, Kenpachi vs Oetsu the exact importance of Haschwalth, Gerard being the heart, Soken's backstory or the Soul King being the bad guy.

That had nothing to do with it. Aizen's illusions were cancelled the moment Yhwach made contact with Aizen. That's how Gin and Yamamoto cancelled the illusions. And Yhwach can see every future. Eye contact isn't needed.

Yhwach couldn't see Uryuu because of the Antithesis. Haschwalth even stated that it is the perfect counter against the Almighty. And Yhwach told Uryuu that he had something that made him immune and allowed him to surpass Yhwach's powers. I'm surprised that so many people have a hard time understanding that. It was literally the first thing we learned about Uryuu and then mentioned less than five chapters before.

If we were going to get a Hisagi bankai moment it should have happened against Mask but he got his shit kicked in instead, or against Pepe but he turned into a love slave, or against Byakuya but he got his shit kicked in by Kensei, or he would have fought one of the quincies that were off-paneled by Byakuya instead of Pepe. Point is he had his chance but blew it. Completely wasted character and would have been better off focusing on people that would progress the plot instead.

When Ichigo started fighting Ywach, I got the feeling it wasn't the final round. The moment Ichigo went bankai was one of thoose points where Ichigo needs to get his spirits up and above, like his first fight with Grimmjow and the first time Ulquiorra took out his heart.

It makes no sense that the fights with the Elite 4 took more chapters than the main bad. Especially considering how long Deicide took.
