And that you enjoyed when discovered them
>>149277967
Only the first part was enjoyable, as soon as they get to present day it turns to shit.
>>149277967
rosario vampire manga when the story time anon started it
>>149277967
Probably not that obscure, but I don't even remember how I discovered the tower of druaga and why I started watching it.
El Cazador De La Bruja
>Invaders of the Ryokujyouma
At first glance it looks like more harem crap, but it's actually a heartwarming tale of friendship.
Seriously Underrated.
>Heavy Object
Instead of rediculous humanoid mechas with insane efficiency requirements, let's make giant spheres with huge guns attached. They can take direct nuke strikes and obliterate entire armies, so now the outcome of war can be determined merely by checking out the other side's balls.
At least, until the MCs (a couple of grunts with naught but small arms and C4) are forced to play 'Shadow of the Collossus'...
>Ben-To
Late at night, in convenience and grocery stores across Japan, the premade bento boxes that didn't get sold that day go on sale for 50% off.
Late at night, wherever bento boxes are sold, dozens of hungry poor people beat the crap out of each other for the right to purchase these half-priced bento.
I'm totally serious. It's a matter of honor.
Found Emblem Take 2 after searching and searching and searching for anime about the Yakuza (For some fucking reason, a lot of people thought that Nisekoi is what I was looking for) when I finally stumbled upon this just looking at the Hokuto no Gun website.
The only thing I dislike about Emblem Take 2 is the fact that it's clearly not finished, but everything it did cover was pretty solid. It would be great if the manga were translated.

Kyomu Senshi Miroku is a really good ninja OVA. Anyone who digs Sanada's Ten Braves (the antagonists for once!) should watch it.
>>149280933
Too bad it turns to shit halfway through.
>>149280933
>>149280398
>>149278507
None of those were obscure at all though
Clockwork Fighters Hiwou's War

>Only the first part was enjoyable, as soon as they get to present day it turns to shit.
This, present day stuff was a chore to watch.
Only anime can make screwing a box full of torture devices seem appealing. In Spanish Inquisition, box screw YOU!
Infinite Ryvius
it had a GOAT OST
>>149277967
I enjoyed a few battle episodes of Shura no Toki. Never watched the whole thing.
May not be that obscure and forgotten though.
Tokyo Underground.
OP/ED were great and foundation and first season was too. Ending was cut short and botched though.
saw it once as a kid on tv
watched it all recently and it's gud
>>149286641
Kill yourself.
>>149286806
Will do.
>>149280184
Didn't watch it because it has a Cosmic Break tie in.
>>149280184
big on /a/
>>149280933
great on /a/
>>149280398
has a vocal following of autists
>>149287124
I've only seen a thread or two in recent years. Great show, even if it did shit the bed with its ending.
How come /a/ never told me about this masterpiece?
keeping with OP's samurai theme. Im not sure if it's obscure but I never see anyone talk about Tsukikage Ran
>>149281436
Does that even have subs?
I thought this one was intereating, since it's rare to see WWII even mentioned in anime, let alone made the setting thereof.
Using the plot device of accedental, one-way time travel, you've got a nice military-themed drama.
>>149287464
Shame about the reused action scenes. Still not bad
>>149288421
I was actually about to post this, but the way I found it was in obscure anime threads anyway
Great show regardless
>>149278907
>on netflix
>first thing said in the anime was little japanese girl going
>Hola!
>couldn't stop laughing and stopped
Is it worth trying again?
>>149288421
Zipang's great.
Only problem is is that it's a very small part of a very long manga that's only translated a little past where the anime ends off, but for what it is it's great.
>>149278763
Tower of Druaga is my favourite fantasy anime. Normally I'd point at Juuni Kokuki, but Druaga was so much fun to watch.
>>149288984
I wanted to like Druaga more than I ended up doing. A lot of the episodes really get my /TG/ stiffy hard but the endings for both seasons where awful and it had serious tonal issues.
I know there's no rules to writing but if you pull shit like this one episode you reallyshouldn't be killing people offand shooting for a serious climax

My fucking niggas.
>>149287202
>ben-to
>great on /a/
/a/ does love Ben-to, myself included, but it's really not talked about much anymore. Even when the LNs ended, there wasn't much anyone said about it.
I think I've actually seen more mention of Xam'd, personally, than Ben-to.
Personally, my vote goes to Kimi to Boku. It only gets a handful of anons in the threads, even when it was airing, but it's one of my favorite SoL series, and I think it's really great at capturing the awkwardness of teenage romance without devolving into dumb hijinks.
Has it caught fire yet?
>>149289598
I wouldn't call it an active topic of discussion but threads that do happen tend to go pretty well.
I love Sen
>>149277967
Black Magic M-66
For someone who loves 80s action, its perfect. One of the most fun action anime of all time.
>>149290197
We got at least 5 guys on /m/ who won't shut up about it
>>149277967
My memory is pretty great and I've been here for so long that I don't even know how to reply to this thread. Everything after 2006 can't be considered exactly obscure. But maybe,
>Yakitate!! Japan
>Bokura ga Ita
>Aoi Bungaku
>Mezzo DSA (not the hentai OVAs)
>Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto
>>149287124
>>149287202
It was also kinda big on /a/. The shitposting with the scene of the weird friend-zoned guy standing very close to the sitting girl in an empty bus was quite frequent.
I watched this because of a random anime generator. It's actually good.
I watched it because I read that it was an adaptation of a novel of the same author of Tatami Galaxy. It was a great experience.
Good thing is getting a second season because I've seen a couple of threads lately that got a really nice discussion and pictures.
>>149290729
Actually found this through /a/.
>>149291788
what is this show, image search gives nothing
>>149294077
Uchozen Kazoku, which is not really obscure at all.
It was a pretty nice anime.

Girls were top tier.
Were big at the time, but now nobody remembers it.
That was a pleasant surprise.
>>149295772
I saw it on TechTV around the same time pic related was airing.
>>149296120
Except with an actual picture this time. Those help.
Armor-Hunter Mellowlink, Dai Mahou Touge, Today in Class 5-2, Furikio Pendulum, and Japan Animator Expo series.
