Can we just sit down and think about how fucking strong Goku and Vegeta have become over the course of two years?! (Age 778 - Age 780) First of all, the Super Saiyan God multiplier is AT LEAST 10,000x base, then they absorb the "God Ki" and now SSG is their base strength. Then they unlock SSGSS/Super Saiyan Blue, which is even stronger. When they still weren't used to God Ki they didn't get that much stronger in three years. But after mastering God Ki, Vegeta went from being fodder to Goku Black, to being able to mop the floor with him, it's just fucking crazy!!!

The whole Beerus-Buu relationship is weird. In the manga as well. Vegeta freaks out at him getting bigger and stronger as he turns into Ultra Buu for a few seconds, but Goku tells him to relax and goes "See? Everything's fine!" when he turned into Kid Buu and suspiciously couldn't feel his power anymore.

Then Buu proceeded to wreck the Earth by shouting very loud and threw a planet buster so powerful at them that they couldn't dream to stop it. Then he started teleporting around the Universe and exploding planets like he hadn't just sent Goku and Vegeta running for their lives with one attack.

To be fair, South Kai and Dai Kaio had the kind of power necessary to do it. It's just that Buu decided he was having none of it and absorbed them. And apparently that made him weaker. Two things come to mind:

1. We have no reason to assume the other Kaioshins weren't as strong as Beerus, especially Dai Kaio. Shin himself was the runt of the bunch, he was their Yamcha.

2. Talking about it, if he really was a god of destruction, then it would make sense that he'd become weaker from absorbing gods of creation (the kaioshin). This would explain why he doesn't get a power down from absorbing mortals.

Mind you, I don't think Toriyama planned any of this. The man can't even keep track of his characters.

X = Kid Buu, the original, most pure form of Buu.
Y = Entities he'd absorbed prior to become later forms of Buu.
