You fanfic fags have made me think seriously again about my Axmann out to help Make America Great Again fic. I had planned to do updates well over the summer, and react it according to what happened irl, but fic writing fell off the rails.

With Martyrs, considering how slimy Axmann is, we knew he was bad, really bad, and really nothing in Lise's route would be out of bounds of what we had already speculated, but seeing it in the flesh is a little damaging.

From the same scene. They're smiling at one another. It's kind of weird, but they actually seem to enjoy working with one another and have this great interplay/camaraderie when they do. They even do a bit of banter back and forth. Actually, Iris's route humanizes Beatrix quite a bit and shows why she's a badass commander, enough so that the 666th protect her from the rebels and later mourn her when she dies.

Why do they even try to play her death off sympathetically when they write her like she's just so unsympathetic? I know about BiS, but it's not really elaborated upon, and we don't ever see any good qualities. She's just extremely unlikable. If SM existed in a vacuum, she'd come off as more unlikable then Axmann in most routes, which is ridiculous. It's the fact that she can't act nice, she's always smug, taunting, and horrible in every way. She goes out of her way to be evil when she can. It's like if an edgy teenager wrote a villain.

Beatrix hates Theo because of how easily he sold out Lise when he was captured. Betrayal and disloyalty, especially from family or loved one, is something Beatrix considers to be truly heinous. He's also the anit-Jurgen; so she'd be reminded of Jurgen whenever she sees him, but then sees how he falls short.

Theo hates her because she's the representation of all the evils of the stasi in his mind. She's always antagonizing him or playing off of his fears. Her ideals are are something he's revolted by, yet he's unable to defend his own ideals in the face of them. Like him and Jurgen, Beatrix is something like the anti-Iris (BiS makes this very clear), so Theo would be going through the same process when he observes her as she did with him.

Beatrix is also just not a very likable person. You'd be forgiven for hating her guts if you didn't know why she's the way she is. She's a suicidal, hollow, murderous loon who absolutely hates everyone around her and sees them all (herself included) as kindle for the BETA war. I mean, think about how much it sucks to be around a depressed person, amplify it by 100, then make the depressed person a complete bitch too. She comes off as extremely sadistic (or at least callous) and unpleasant unless you're Iris or Walther.

I mean, if Lise were to get a hold of some "dangerous mementos" like she tried to with Katia, and then sends them back to Beatrix, how would Beatrix react? She wouldn't be able to pass it off as just someone who looks eerily like Jurgen hanging around Iris (she'd just see it as Iris being a siscon again). I think the difference is, Lise doesn't deserve any of it, while Beatrix inflicts a lot of it on herself, so the death she gets at the end of each route is kind of deserved. Yeah, but we never see the injuries, especially for Beatrix. Missiles hit them, Iris survived, but Beatrix did not. It'd be nice to know how she's damaged, because from the CG, it doesn't look like she's injured that bad, which hurts the impact of the scene. Showing injuries isn't just for sadism or shock, it's to build up sympathy too. Like penetration/bash; where was she stabbed or bashed in such a way as to allow her to continue a conversation. Guess Kouki doesn't want to show us his waifu getting mutilated or something.

Kind of also stems from the overall problem that TSF vs TSF combat in Martyrs looks like ass. Like I still can't determine how Farka dies in a couple of routes. Like I know she does, because she's there one scene and gone all the scene afterwards.

The VN is kind of a middle ground between the LN and anime. It leans closer to the LN, but they do sometimes give the anime precedence. There's enough changes where it can be considered it's own thing though.

I remember a lot of you faggots doubted me when I said that they'd go and canonize anime events over LN events (like Lise's capture was her chasing down Theo with Farka, not them falling into a trap going after Heim), but age always does this. They aren't like Type-Moon, who stick to their guns mostly. Age'll retroactively do this too, like they did with KGNE. It's why I continue to oppose having a Trilogy anime.
