What are you reading/translating/typesetting at the moment?
Anybody know the names of these fonts? I'd like to use them in my TL
Reading some chink raws of muvluv total eclipse.
Is there an audience for the muvluv manga? I've thought about cleaning up the raws and getting a translator.

If something is getting milked as much as this series then it's not worth giving a shit about

How do I obtain raws of the so called 'alternative' manga for my reading pleasure without buying them
DDL sites and torrents don't have shit, Japanese P2P aren't any better (I tried them all - slow unrealiable, most raws are on DDL anyway), ugcity is pretty slow these days and people rarely upload things I want and it looks like there are no other secret clubs like it
Do people trade stuff among themselves? I've got some stuff you can't easily find anywhere I can offer
Fuck I'm running out of options
>>149186420
I don't translate at all, I'm just a Photoshop monkey.
>>149186549
What are you looking for?
>>149186420
I translate things I'm personally interested in. Nothing to do with money. So, free, sadly.

I see. They all look obscure. Even the covers. Your best bet is to simply buy and scan them yourself, sadly.

Simply work a part time job and earn enough to buy the magas yourself.
Anyone willing to translate this shounenshit?
>>149187985
Didn't Viz and niggastream handle it?
>>149187985
What is it? Pitch it to me. Give me the year it was made in, how many volumes it is and a short description.

That's Yakusoku no Neverland
>>149188217

TL this instead. It's basically Hunter x Hunter Dark Continent. Togashi endorsed it.
3 volumes currently.
Gunjou no Magmel
One day, a new continent appeared out of nowhere. Named Magmel, the continent was filled with deadly monsters as well as miraculous natural resources. 35 years later, humanity is still trying to conquer it. The MC is this kid who is famous for his skill at surviving the dangers the continent poses. For money and fun rescues those foolish enough to underestimate the Magmel.

You the typesetter for kimetsu?
>>149190165
Togashi's endorsement wasn't as good for the series as you think. It's been on hiatus for the last four months.

yeah

I like things that seem weird and original which doesn't necessarily translate to good

Not really, just you answering to the call of shounenshit for Kimetsu no Yaiba made me think you're okay with this kind of manga.
How about this one, then?
サルチネス (4 volumes, complete)
31 year old Nakamaru Takehiko has trained all his life to never be disturbed by anything that the world throws at him. Whether dog poop begins to rain down from the heavens, or a human shaped strawberry monster shows up in front of him, his will never faltered. But when he realized that his existence in the house inhibits his sister from getting married, he panicked. In his panicked state, he left the house for Tokyo. Now homeless, he must find ways to survive in this world with only his iron will and the companions he finds along the way.
I hear they've added in redrawing hands as a new circle of hell.
WANTED:
REDRAWER WITH DEEP MASOCHISM STREAK, FOR BAKI SERIES
We need a redrawer who can manage some pretty unfair redraws, and we would *like* them immediately. If you're looking for a great challenge to put on your scanlation resume, this would be it.
Sample of what you could be up against: there's often more than one of these per chapter.
can someone shred a light and tell me which font the poptepipic guys use?
tried whatfontis with several dialogues and results doesnt seem to match

https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/blambot/sequentialist-bb/
anyone have these fonts? https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/comicraft/onomatopedia/
>>149197631
Never.
AI cannot replace anything but automation and cleaning creative media is no automation.
>>149198362
Today's AI you mean.
Because I'm working on the future SkyNet that when I'm done, I'll probably cause the electronic apocalypse.
>>149194069
LetterOmatic!
>>149199764
You wish, anon.
But you going to die an old broken man, screaming at the kids for being too happy.
SkyNet is never possible in the implementation sense in the first place.
>>149193583
not the one you're replying to, but I will recommend this to my translator, he liked Boku to Issho and Punpun, so this one must be similar, yes?
>>149194018
>there's often more than one of these per chapter
thats a nightmare, it will be hard to find any redrawer who is willing to do that without any rewards
>>149200825
Oh it IS possible, I just need to create the first "true" AI.
Deep learning is already getting more and more focus and someday you'll have an actual "thinking" AI.
The only issue is, if I do finish it, and I program it based on the human's survivability instinct, the first thing it'll probably do is kill me, since I'll be the most threatening entity known to it.
>>149187151
Oh I'm pretty sure elemhunter has bought some of those. Ask him.
Why do people not translate old manga at all anymore?
What do I do with an image like this? The only way to get rid of the dirty, black areas is to over-level it, but then the lines are thinned. Any suggestions?
>>149196085
>>149197924
>>149198065
>>149200683
thanks for all your answers!
>>149202240
I'm not sure what you mean.
>>149202393
Look at the lines. It's too sharp. They thin once over-levelled. Anyway, I just slightly blurred the image afterward. Looks fine, I think. Thoughts?
Bump for interest.
>>149202772
fucking terrible blurry shit
>>149202772
>>149201144
Prithee - what rewards would you think someone would ask for in return for doing that kind of work? Because I'd be totally cool with paying a redrawer a small amount if they could do pro-level work, absolutely.
Context: he's talking to a girl that A) let him use her shower, and B) is crying.
I think the left reads more naturally, with a short pause between the two bubbles, but maybe the right works a little better as a joke?
Or maybe there's a different way entirely that's better. (Or maybe it doesn't actually matter and I shouldn't be wasting my time on it.)
>>149207339
money, usually the amount depends on how much works the redrawer needs to do.
>>149208694
the right one is better I think
>(Or maybe it doesn't actually matter and I shouldn't be wasting my time on it.)
kek, I can feel you anon, sometimes I focus on the little details too much and forgot that I still got a lot to do
