Watched this just last weekend. Watched it all with subs then a couple episodes with the dub. They seem about equal in my onion, given that the series isn't plot heavy and elevens can't into humor.

Regarding the ending though, it left me pretty flaccid. I'm just going to pretend the post credits scene doesn't exist, though I would like to see what their lives in heaven was like.

They were going for a gainax ending, but everyone expected it, so they made it as last minute ass-pully as possible. It couldn't have fell more flat or have been a worse choice.
