I'm really pissed what Kubo did with Chad in the last chapter. He promised his grandfather when he was young he'd never use his fists for personal gain. There was simply no corpse to salvage. Ukitake's grave is more like a memorial, which implies no has been buried there. The buried corpses are actually in a graveyard. Hisagi was visiting the graveyard in chapter 520.5.
