to be fair, Momo's alternate costumes/ability in the game have the magical girl transformation scenes but certainly they are not about friendship, more of an easter egg/throw back. I am hesitant to check it out, but I will skim through it at the very least because how much I enjoyed the games.

It was fucked right from the first game. 1 and 2 covered what was originally supposed to just be episode 1, which is why episode 1 ends on a cliffhanger and almost nothing happens in episode 2. So even if 2 was successful, the original scope of 6 games wouldn't have fit the story, they'd have had to make more. Takahashi was always too ambitious for what his directing skills could handle (at least before he stopped trying)
