Look. The VA threads here on /a/ show you why. Some people like VAs because they sound nice, but others like them because they have the voice of their waifu and therefore, a part of their waifu lives within the 3D woman. It makes otherwise plain/average-looking women magically attractive.

You also see this with idols. The worst of the lot is idol seiyuu because not only do they have to voice characters, they have to ACT like their characters. They have to sing, dance, act cute 24/7, and basically pretend to be something they are not.

I imagine that must be fairly taxing when you do it week after week, year after year. Even if you enjoy the job it must have some negative impact on one's life overall.
