The Kobo Aura H2O already has an microSD slot for up to 32GB expandable memory.

But it's fucking slow to load pages.
>>
>>148781760
guess who's back? manga scanlators
>>
i fucking hate it to read manga on a digital reader

manga is made so that you see both sides at one and not just one

and there is not a single reader that can present both sides at the same time in a good quality

i hate them so much fucking disgusting pieces of trash
>>
>>148782059
The problem is really with the scanlators though.
If the consistently glued the pages back together it would be trivial to read them in horizontal mode. Though most current readers would be too small for the task.
>>
>>148781760
>6" screen
Hahaha, it will flop.
>>
>>148781760
32gb actually isn't much if you have many series on the go, Amazon should just implement a micro SD slot already.

>>148781792
That's the official information but I think it can support up to 128gb.
>>
>>148782087
they are all to small
that is the problem
the only way i can read manga in digital form is on my pc with honeyview
>>
>>148782059
I tend to hold real books open at 45 degrees so I only see one page at a time anyway unless there's a spread across both pages.
>>
If you want to read manga get one of those larger kobo models.
Firstly you aren't tied to amazon, and that should be enough reason.
If not, it supports more formats natively and you don't feel like you're getting buttfucked by amazon when you use it.
>>
>>148782153
>hold real books open at 45 degrees so I only see one page at a time anyway
what did he mean by this
>>
>>148782216
I do it too.
Opening a book too far can break its back.

Sure there is: the full-size iPad Pro.

It literally has more samples than the source does, and can (by Nyquist's Theorem) reproduce it perfectly.

so long as it's not displaying downsampled grayscale "cleaned" shit.
>>
>>148782236
only if you buy books with a shit quality
>>
>>148782301
We are talking about manga here.
>>
>>148782210
>you don't feel like you're getting buttfucked by amazon when you use it
Do you perchance run a Unix-based OS and/or wear a tinfoil hat?
I started using a Kindle 6 years ago, read literally hundreds of pirated books, bought only 2 of them, also manga. Used the email-to-kindle function a lot. Spoke with Amazon support with hundreds of illegal ebooks and I've never had any problems accessing my content in 4 different generations of the device.
What the fuck are you talking about, you twat. Get something different for the specs, not because muh evil corporations.
>>
>>148782309
i too
i have over 500 mangos
and the back did not break of single one
even if always open them at 160 degrees
>>
>>148782330
>What the fuck are you talking about, you twat.
The kindle got a bad reputation for the 1984 affair.

Do any of you have any idea what a 45 degrees angle actually looks like?
>>
>>148782384
I have some 1000 books. Back when I was younger I would open them wider, and you can easily tell which books are the oldest in my collection just from the lines on their backs.
>>
>>148781792
It's not slow enough to be a deal-breaker.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMycpYnGYug
>>
>>148782407
Sorry, I didn't correct the number of the other anon. I tend to go with a 100° angle, I guess.
The point I was making was just that I also take care not to open the book too far and I also usually only see one page at a time.
>>
>>148782216
he probably meant 90 degree
>>
>>148782409
as i said
the fault lies by the publisher you by the books from and their shit quality

and by the way
even with a 100 degree angle you see both sides
>>
>buying an amazon swindle
I hope nobody is actually that retarded

>>148782386
You mean that issue 7 (seven) years ago, that happens again like 1 time every 2 or 3 years to a single person and it's not always clear if it's a technical issue
>buttfucked by amazon
Right.
>>
>>148781760

Let's be real. Most of us don't go out on a regular basis enough to justify a portable reader, and even if we did, I doubt we would actually be degenerate enough to read manga in public.
>>
I think the implications of this aren't necessarily about a new platform to read manga on

But that manga will be directly sold on an electronic platform, meaning that scanlators can just acquire digital copies, and become full on translators, meaning that more manga might get translated.
>>
>>148782471
>the fault lies by the publisher
Yes, and 99% of all manga are very fucking cheap, especially if you buy from Japan.
>even with a 100 degree angle you see both sides
Only if you look vertically at the book. I prefer to look vertically at the page. You can see better that way. That's handy when you're reading a comic with pictures.
>>
>>148782496
1. Reading manga in bed is comfy.
2. You should take walks and read somewhere in the sun sometime. I prefer reading on graveyards. Nothing edgy about it. Graveyards are basically very quiet and empty parks.
3. Don't you ever visit your family?
>>
>>148782555
>Only if you look vertically at the book. I prefer to look vertically at the page.
You're the 90 degrees guy right? Please stop trying to use words to explain the fuck you're doing. You're forcing me to think too hard.
>>
>>148782485
nice technique

>>148782555
wat
so you allways have to change the position of your hands if you want to read the other page
wew lad
>>
>>148782616
>Please stop trying to use words to explain the fuck you're doing.
Would you prefer a diagram?
>>
>>148782652
Well, yes. I don't see how there's any fucking difference in looking at either a page or a book "vertically". I don't even know what vertical means in this context.
>>
>>148782616
>>148782719

Okay think about it like this, right?

Let's set the axes of a three dimensional space to run from a book lying flat on the table, with the angle between the bottom half and the top half of the book being roughly 100 degrees. You can see both pages, but you can't well read the left page, because you're looking at it almost from the side instead of head on like the half resting on the table.

Now, let's say you shift the axes entirely, and you have the y direction run not with gravity, but from the spine of the book itself towards you, the reader. In that case, you essentially have a 50 degree angle on both sides at which you can successfully read both halves.

But that's fucking stupid, and the anon who suggests that over reading it one page at a time should reconsider their life.

are you fucking dumb
i have the feeling you have never hold a book in your hand

and furthermore
you have absolut no understanding of geometry
>>
>>148782789
No you listen here you little shit, try holding a book in front of you with 100 degrees between the pages, and you tell me that's the way it's supposed to be read.

I understand that it's perfectly doable when it's just text, because how you get the words is a lot less important, but for a visual medium that's just distorting your own view of the picture for an arbitrary fucking reason.

this is so unbelievable dumb

left side
you can open a paperback much further since you don't put stress on the back and more on the page

right side
even dumber
you have to change your hand pesition everytime you change the side you read
this is borderline autism

Next level shit coming through.
>>
>>148782916
>>148783036
And I told you, I have plenty of books that have visible scars from having been opened too far.

Jesus, this picture triggers my bibliophile autism. Why the fuck would you do that to the spine of a book? You're just ruining it.
>>
>>148783038
Perpendicular it is. In my native language vertical means "at a 90° angle", I thought it was the same in English.
>>
>>148782843
Check some foruns or something, devices supporting bigger storage sizes than they advice is quite common.
>>
>>148783088
than you are just shitty

>>148782786
the funny thing with this pic is
that the book on the right side is open on a wider angle than the one one the left side
and still in reality you would open the book on the right even further so that you can read everthing on the inside closest to the back

>>148783144
it's like you never had proper paperback in your hands
nothing happens to the back and you won't see anything even if you read it a dozen of times
>>
>>148782916
Try reading something that doesn't have pictures in it or a book that is longer than 300 pages.
>you have to change your hand pesition everytime you change the side you read
>this is borderline autism
Nice case of the pot calling the kettle black.
You shift your hands very slightly when you switch sides. I'd rather do that than turn my head this way or that to get a better angle.
>>
>>148783214
>that the book on the right side is open on a wider angle than the one one the left side
I know, it's a quick sketch. I'm sorry.

>nothing happens to the back and you won't see anything even if you read it a dozen of times
That's blatantly untrue.

>than you are just shitty
And everybody I ever lent a book to is shitty.
>>
>>148783285
>And everybody I ever lent a book to is shitty.
yes they must be
or just the quality of the books you buy

>That's blatantly untrue.
no it is not
i read one piece over a dozen times and not a single book has a crack in its back

>>148783280
>Try reading something that doesn't have pictures
why should i open a book that does not have pictures in it so wide?
i can read it just fine in a lower angle
>or a book that is longer than 300 pages
if you are talking about manga
that depends on the quality
you can open the massive planetes from dark horse just fine

only books like vagabond from vizbig are not made to open so far
but those are the tiny minority
>>
>>148783280
>I'd rather do that than turn my head
you do not turn your head
you would just move your eyes
>>
>>148783443
>just the quality of the books you buy
Manga are cheap products. There's a reason the Japs sell them for 500 yen.
>>
I purchase digital light novels and Kindle is bloody awful because of Amazon's restrictive image quality and filesize policy. Avoid at all costs.
>>
>>148783525
last time i checked they were sold for 700-900 yen
