I only use AB for old shit that I cannot possibly find anywhere else. Their system is kind of obsessively strict and it means that the pros barely outweigh the cons. I like a site where as long as you prove you're doing your best to seed, you're fine. It allows for some flexibility and means that both seeders with strong connections and seeders with weak, shitty machines can all pitch in to create a good community. The amount of variance in output and input is negligible and is worth it to be able to host a wide range of users.

Like what? I dropped uTorrent after I accidentally upgraded and BBT (like many other private trackers) decided never to allow anything past 3.3.x. So I was forced to make the switch to qBittorrent, and trust me, I was OK with it because I could actually limit downloads and Bib was OK with it too.
That was until I had to format and the latest supported version was prehistoric.

I run Transmission on my desktops, laptops, and even my NAS/home server (all running OS X, Linux, or FreeBSD) and it's never let me down. Ran rTorrent for a while on the NAS and it was great too but unfortunately most of its web UIs kinda suck.

Oddly the options for solid clients are more slim under Windows.
