Nope. They couldn't replace it as they had no stock left. This thing was stupidly limited. Somehow there's also pen and oil marks.

It was probably stored in too hot of a location and the glue loosened. If they won't replace the book, get a hair dryer, warm up the spine, and stick it back on.

I'd take it to the local printer/bookbinder if I were you. They might be able to do something and what have you got to lose? You may not be able to casually open it after the fixing but as you went out of your way to buy a physical copy, I imagine it was for the sake of owning a book and not reading it.

Yeah, thankfully with a quick search there's like five professional Bookbinders within 15 miles of me. And they've been doing repairs much worse than this for longer than I've been alive, I expect good things, but not cheaply. Not like this purchase was really a thrifty thing to begin with.

Though I bought a Kenwood mixer a couple of years back with some dents, and then I got 25 % off if I kept it. I chose to keep it, the dents didn't bother me that much.

I can't stand owning physical books and DVDs/BDs or whatever merchandise. It takes up so much space. I just buy things I need to have, like textbooks and video games (they're usually cheaper when they're not digital download).

I've never bought any anime and manga, and I haven't bought any DVDs, BDs or video games in probably two years. I had to buy some books though, which I kind of regret since they take up so much space. I wish I could just throw them out.

That would do it right there. All it takes is a decent fall from a reasonable distance to one side of the cover and it will rip that shit right off the binding. There is so much paper between the covers with so much weight it will shred anything short of stiched and glued binding.

Here is a picture from the box i got mine in from rightstuff since i still have it.

>>148638454
Anyone could get their money back by issuing a chargeback. Or by complaining to Amazon if they bought it through them. If you buy shit off the internet you should have multiple layers of "fuck you, give me my money back" without even trying.
>>
>>148637316
Ask them to put a padlock on it

Ask them to put wheels and tail fins and a steering wheel on it

Ask them to put overstuffed cushions and a pull-lever footrest on it

Ask them to put an Evga GeForce GTX 750Ti 2GB GDDR5 on it

Ask them to put an extra shot of espresso, whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles and a cherry on it

If they have decent customer service, they'll do it for you.
>>
If they don't give you a full refund then you can do a charge back on your credit card.

Pro tip: That kind of dispute isn't a magical fix-all thing credit cards can do.

A merchant can fight it and possibly win, especially if you try to dispute it while you still have the merch, broken or not.

citation: Worked for credit card companies for 10+ years, talked to plenty of butthurt people whose disputes didn't go their way.

>>
>>148639057
I can't say I've never gotten a cash refund when buying something fro ma reputable company if it has been less than satisfactory or in poor state.
>>
>>148639590
That's true: Reputable companies tend to be really cool about that stuff, especially if they're big. They recognize that it's good business, plus they can afford it.

It's usually smaller companies, infomercials and subscription services (whether it's magazines or gym memberships) that tend to be shitty about disputes.

Pro tip: Never ever ever buy a free trial that only costs shipping. 30 days later you'll see a substantially larger charge on your credit card and receive (or not) a big bunch of that stuff you got a free trial of.

Those things are an absolute son of a bitch to get stopped.
>>
>>148640324
Is this more a thing in a America? I'm signing up for free crap in the UK to get the free promo and then cutting off before a charge is made.

Amazon didn't catch on that for a year I made 12 separate accounts to get free prime.
>>
>>148640617
>Is this more a thing in a America?

Maybe. I know Amazon is really cool about cancelling Prime for people after their free year, even if fee for the next year has already been charged.

I've talked to dozens of Indians who swear to their peanut-loving gods that they never signed up for Amazon Prime and they better get their money back right now.
>>
>>148640617
I do that with CR every once in a while. I can create shadow cards and give them a certain amount if I want, then I create a new account, signup for the trial, cancel the card, charge can't be made because the card doesn't exist, repeat.
>>
>>148640758
Yeah, one friend accidentally let his prime run over the year but they seen he had used it for 6 months after renewal and refunded it for him.
