He's calling them anti-magic units and that's exactly what the ones Kumo fought in the facility before becoming a god did, they were completely immune to any and all forms of magic she could use. I'd assume the anti-god ones are just a version of those that Poti raised the physical capabilities of over the centuries to eventually fight with Kuro. Even if they are stronger though, he basically just gave his trump card away to Shiro by mentioning their existence when the Elf village is already crawling with her spiders. I think he's most likely just severely underestimating what gods can actually do, that ridiculous dimensional magic that was meant to wipe out D didn't even leave a scratch on her after all and he just assumed she is already dead

Because the illustrations are supposed to supplement the novel maybe? All those scenes are from her POV, not someone else. When have you seen a LN illustration that features a scene where the POV is from someone like Ronant or Julius, etc and has Kumo in it? Yeah exactly.

You guys are barking up the wrong tree here, you should be pointing out how there should be illustrations for the scenes where people see her from their POV which would then give you the full spooky spider look.

That said, Ronant would also probably start seeing Kumo with rose tinted glasses so it's pretty hard to find such a scene to begin with. About only Sophia's Blood chapters give that because Kumo never interacts with anyone but Sophia, Ronant, and Julius before God mode and Julius never gets a POV during that scene. Oh maybe that what's his face, the guide guy's POV would work too.

Asking for the illustrations to straight up ignore Kumo's image of herself is basically just admitting you wanna be Shadow the Edgehog. Even during the worst of times Kumo was cracking jokes nearly as much as a certain combat butler would. It's not the author's fault you all just ignored it in favor of the dungeon crawling survival part.

LN can change those minor details, and most importantly artists usually take liberties toward aesthetics like patterns and shit. Even Overlord's So-Bin doesn't 1:1 the scenes.
