It surely had a a slightly bigger budget than Regalia, since it was a 2 cour show (so probably around 3-4 million dollars total for 24 episodes instead of 2-2,5 million dollars for a standard 1 cour show like Regalia with its 12 episodes). There isn't that much deviation ultimately.

All in all, this was actually a very nice episode, with lots of action and fighting and environment destruction.

The sky-diving, then the skirmish in the Rimegard shaft, followed by the fighting in the capital city with Johann blowing half the city up. That's how Regalia should have been from the beginning.

Scavenging only makes sense when the benefits outweigh the costs. The entirety of Rimgarde was wiped out, you aren't going to trek to another country just to rummage around for free canned food. The expensive items like rare paintings, gold bars in bank vaults, etc. probably got taken early by people who didn't care about what caused the disappearance, but nobody's going to trek in just to rob an abandoned camping store.
