Its not as big as it used to be, but the individual novels still sell really well and I'm pretty sure that, through sheer number of volumes, its literally become the best selling LN francise ever.

Autistic powerlevel classifications appeal to the lowest common denominator, a crowd even worse than moe otaku or fujoshi. It isn't the biggest franchise that has gotten popular via autistic video-game style world building, though; that's Fate.
