I don't understand it either, at first i thought he was just learning Goku's moves by fighting him, which is similar to how Ginyu didn't know how to fight like Goku when he stole his body, Zamasu knew this and he had to fight Goku to learn. Then i thought it was some Zamasu patented magic, but in this episode the implication seems to be that he is benefiting from the Saiyan zenkai boost. But he is not actually healing mid battle, is he?

Unless, he is also immortal like Zamasu and every time he gets punched he regenerates and that gives him a Zenkai boost? We just don't know he is immortal because unlike Zamasu he hasn't been hit hard enough to show that he is regenerating. I mean Zamasu even got his head blown up in this episode, but Black is too strong to get seriously wounded like that so the injuries he sustains aren't noticeable and thus his regeneration also isn't noticeable.

Expect that special attacks exist in order to gain the upper hand which mean's they are apart of a fighter's strategy. 2) forms don't have clearly set multipliers (it's been shown that SS1 can even outclass SS3 on occasion)

That's true but if Goku should be able to explode Buu without exploding himself in the process using SS3. I know Buu will just regenerate but it will buy a hell lot more time for Kid Trunks to get away compared to just fighting Buu like in the manga.

Vegeta was never envious about SS3. He was only pissed off that Goku never used SS3 against him, holding back rather than going all out with all the techniques he knows.

Yes, I get that he can probably channel Ki at ss3 if he's dead but that's pretty much technically a drawback anyways.

If the namek balls can undo potara fusion, and swapping is something a ningen like Ginyu could do easily, then it should be no problem. Zamasu turns back into a weakling. All they have to worry about is Immortal Zamasu.

Looks SSJ2 to me, but yes, I agree, he's probably not actually SSJ2, he just resembles it, but he's also not SSJ1 either. I'm sure we'll find out soon.

With that said, Goku and Teen Gohan are the only people that have different hair when going SSJ2. Vegeta didn't have different hair, Adult Gohan didn't have different hair, Gotenks in the manga didn't have different hair. The only difference was it was a bit more detailed and had electricity which as we've seen in Super isn't a thing really.
