It's not too far from the general truth. Otaku usually fall into 3 camp:

1. You can't tell their Otaku in the first place, unless you know them personally. Think Lucky Star, where MC is normal enough looking.

2. You never see them to begin with. This is generally hikkikomori, so think Welcome to the NHK. Almost nobody sees the MC outside of people that personally know them.

3. Creepy fucks. Think the cast of Genshiken, where a few are type 1 but a bunch are type 3 as well.

There aren't "good" Otaku people, if an Otaku is "good" then people think "Wow, that Otaku doesn't really act or seem like an Otaku", like with Kosaka of Genshiken.

I'm not a rapist, not yet anyway, and I don't like real women. I don't hate them, I just don't want to fuck them.

I don't think I appear very creepy either, I look painfully mediocre and have no distinguishing traits either good or bad besides being lazy and having creepy blue grey eyes. I do have a bit of facial hair, but it's not as bad as it could be, and I dress pretty boringly. I probably look like a boring college student, although I'm actually a NEET. I have eternal baby face so I look way younger than I am, I even get confused as a teenager sometimes I'm 28

Anyone who's ever met me probably just thinks I'm a boring guy who isn't worth talking too. I don't know for certain though because what I think I look like could be very far from the truth.

both accurate and inaccurate. accurate because they exist and no because that misinterprets the other side normie/otaku hybrids. I mean i've met enough otakus who represents the latter. Me and my mates are literally spouses our autism and trying to get laid at cons when we are together but when the time ends for that we are back to our paying jobs. One guy huge otaku i know of has this nice job of being a game translator for sentai which earns him 3k USD per week which he spends on going to japan(we are in philippines btw) whenever he feels like but usually on idol concerts. Also he gets hot bitches when i meet him all the time even though he is wearing his idol shirts. That guy has motherfucking charm
