In large part because he didn't even know enough about the show he was complaining about people liking to pick a picture from the show he was actually referencing. Then partially because most of the people with the kind of taste I think he was going for would have never seen or included something like Ashita no Joe or Akage no Anne.

Flip Flappers and Eupho were great, needs no explanation. I didn't mind Yuri on Ice too, obviously the skating scene was immaculate and the backgrounds had a lot of great colour to them. Not particularly interested in the sport though and the writing's corny as hell so we'll see how it goes.

Adding to that post I don't really agree that it is boring as such but I think that people who have seen more anime will often have more nuanced tastes and tend towards having less universally agreeable "good" shows on their 3x3s while still being rooted in those kinds of shows as they solidify their preferences over time.

I don't believe that anyone genuinely does that on purpose or if it does occur it is relatively uncommon. I mean seriously who comes to an anonymous imageboard and thinks "better not put x show that I love on my 3x3 because people will criticise it". It is fairly common to see shows with a fairly large hatebase on these threads too I would say and quite uncommon to find a 3x3 entirely made up of "untouchable" shows.

That's some backwards logic. People with those kinds of tastes end up staying here and others probably get annoyed that they either can't recognize their shows, are called for liking more mainstream stuff or just won't find people to talk about their favorite shows.

It's like saying it's boring that most people in a group like classical music more than pop, rock or hip-hop when the group itself is a classical music club.

On top of that the fact that people with those kinds of tastes are called boring or dishonest shows that they are just as criticised if not more so than people who like k-on or ttgl.
