It's always been so weird to me that people decry Nise as bad when it has some of the strongest developments and insights of the whole series.
Bake almost feels like they didn't know what they wanted to do with it yet. After it became apparent that this was gonna be a huge deal, Nise bursts through from the long break just dripping with the stilled essence of everything good about Bake.
Bake is 10/10 certainly - But everything since has been even better.
Bake by itself would have just been another great show from 2009 worth mentioning - It's because of everything coming after that it's now rocketed into masterpiece tier.
