do i have to follow the monogatari series to watch the kizumonogatari films?

i tried watching bakemonogatari many times but i could never get into it

Maybe watch the first Kizu movie and see if its worth continuing you have tons of time to catch up before all the movies are released.

No, the film is definitely different than Bakemonogatari. Kizumonogatari is a prequel so you're fine if you haven't watched any other gatari series.

Bake has a lot of dialogue and internal monologues, Kizu doesn't, the movie is more visual. I personally like it more than the series for this reason alone but many bake fans are upset that they removed all the monologuing.

kizu is chronologically the first in the series and the format is different from the shows in that it doesn't have an internal monologue every 30 seconds so give it a shot

No, but you should go in understanding that the first Kizu movie isn't designed to stand on its own due to Aniplex being super jews.
