But the appearance of Teresa was a cop out, the same most likely with Beserk since author has no idea what to do, will probably have Skeleton Knight finish the job with the ultimate evils while Guts gets as far as a showdown with Griffin after their side gets butchered. Yeah, the Berserk anime was horrible.

It was done by Itagaki Shin, the same guy who did bright, colorful anime like Dead Leaves, Teekyuu, (he also did 2007 DMC) and Berserk is the complete opposite, so he was a bad choice

The story has become a bit lame with all the child characters, even Puck.

I like Berserk a lot and I had my eye on Claymore ever since I started really getting into Anime.

Should I rather read or watch it?

It's really not better than Berserk but it's pretty good. Starts out great with an interesting premise and halfway through it shits the bed but it's still enjoyable. Great monster designs, lots of battles and a wide variety of girls to choose from. Anime only covers a small portion of the manga and last 2 episodes are a shitty anime original ending, maybe you can watch up to that and continue with the manga.

Nope. Claymore has less quality writing then the hair on Miura's left nut. It was cool at first but Claymore has wayyyy to many of the worst trappings battle shounen tend to have. I had to drop it 14 vols. in, shame I wanted to like it to.
