I mean especially if you consider the fact that the elf used forbidden blood magic and the blood and meat of a dragon that has its own magical properties. I wouldn't really expect any drawback from making a point to talk about all that.

I mean this manga usually doesn't pay attention to those kinds of details because it's pretty generic in quality so I get where you're coming from. The author usually likes to skim over stuff and tries not to put his characters in danger.

I also wouldn't even consider the fact that the sister coming back completes the entire plotline for the manga. That obviously has nothing to do with it and there's clearly no chance the author would use a messed up resurrection as a springboard to give his characters an excuse to delve deeper into both the lore and physical dungeon of this world.

Yeah man, just seeing patterns that don't exist.

Plus pretty much everything in the dungeon has magical properties. I don't think it's a stretch to assume a dragon would as well.

We don't know why they're forbidden but it's pretty clear just from the resurrection pages that some bad juju was going on. It would be a waste for all that foreshadowing to end in nothing.

The reaction comes more from her using "dark" magic and a creature that is normally not used for this kind of ritual. If there is a danger for her turning into a half-dragon, Chilchack would have outright said it. And what does a hobbit know about magic.

There's nothing so far to suggest that, resurrected people don't die immediately once they are outside the dungeon.

Meshi does paneling and other subtle things better than Golden Kamuy, but Kamuy has better draftsmenship. They're both good series though.

Though as far as paneling goes, I'd have to say Houseki no Kuni is the best. Ongoing at least.

That's what i thought too, but remember that one guy with his soul stuck to the grave because of that one elven ring. Maybe there is something to the spell the affixes the souls like that or something, she says that the less body part is intact, the less the chance of being ressed. And being moved also reduces the chances, maybe some rune is inscribed on the flesh magically and any sort of disturbing it can effectively erase any chance.

I'm mostly speculating, the manga just gave me this foreshadow that sooner or later, all this ressing business going to backfire really badly, because the main team is really scared of dying(not just because of the reasons they cited before)

Although with HnK the Mangas also works with a very minimalist style overall with moments of high detail. She works with somewhat abstract imagery whereas Dungeon Meshi has a more grounded setting and artistry.

Both are great though.

You could be right and it's Marcelle who will be affected but my money is still on the sister. I don't think she'll be a half dragon or anything but I think characteristics or even memories might get inherited.

She did and they really die. The reason resurrection magic works is because the dungeon traps the soul inside it. Has nothing to do with the monsters. When resurrected the body is completely restored and then the still close soul reconnected to its body.

I recommend just reading it at this point but the resurrection works based on the soul being tethered to the dead body.

Usually you can bring the body to a resurrection center but because they were so deep in the dungeon and because the body was only bones, they didn't have time to bring her up.

The tether gets weaker the further they are from where they died and from how damaged the body is. They need meat and blood to replace what's lost so that's why they used the dragon meat.

I wonder what other things Marcelle can do.

Some posts above it has been explained how it works. It's not really resurrection magic, they never really passed into some kind of heaven or other realm of the dead. The soul still lingers on, close to the body. They restore the body, which isn't evil magic, and then fuse them.

They are not ripped out of the realm of the dead, nor do they animate dead bodies.
