I wanted discussion, opinions, and thoughts on the movie.
You're free to take it as a recommendation (I really do) but i just want to talk about it.

Did you get a 5 centimetres per second vibe from this?
I loved the movie but it felt like a happy ending of that movie. (still love both)
You're better of making a thread on reddit /r/anime. /a/ hates anime, and especially popular anime.

Fuck off.

I'd at least like to re-invigorate the memories (if it's diluted) back from the old times.
/a/ is still great at times but I feel that this thread was necessary. Especially after the success and attention this was getting in Japan

I really liked it. I'm hoping they do a theatrical release in North America.

We had a bunch of threads two-three weeks ago when the DVD-screener leaked. I watched it two times at a row, I really liked it. I guess most people who didn't like it complained mostly about 5 wallpapers per second, bad and unintesting story that had been done a thousand times before and Shinkai a hack or something. I don't really remember. I don't really care about opinions from someone who didn't even bother to watch the movie I guess.

Oh i just finished it right now. I loved it!
Already planning to rewatch.

I can see how it became popular so fast. It's something i would recommend for anyone to watch. It's family friendly, it's a great story and it's accessible for anyone, even who's not into anime.

>It's family friendly
I has a more specific target audience than Ghibli movies, I think only teens and adolescents would be interested in this movie. It's not really for kids or adults.
I wasn't a huge fan of it. probably about a 5-6/10
