What's the appeal of Rakugo ?

I've watched the first two episodes, and i don't really get their perfomances, they seem too japanese for me.
It's not good.

This sounds like more of a /jp/ question
Unless you want to turn this into a Joshiraku thread

Well, Joshiraku is not the only anime about rakugo.
Came out in the context of a lot of really bad shows. Decently interesting story and unique concept. Looked pretty good. Demonstrated some level of intellectual seriousness.

I founds out about it in the recent Ace Attorney, and it seems odd
Weaboo vibes, displays how much Japan was changed before and after WWII, interesting information about traditional Japanese arts, warm atmosphere, pretty mature characters and young protagonist is as hot as the fires of hell
i just can't wait for the season 2

What? I swear I watched AA but I don't remember any rakugo in the show. What episode was it?

I think he meant the games
>>147752667
That makes a lot more sense, don't know why I assumed it was from the anime.

It's basically just a mix of stand-up and a one-man theatre play. The humour is pretty universal.

What else are there that are known?

It's literally just telling funny stories to an audience, Japan autistically ritualized it like they did everything else.

Well I say that but it's not like Western opera, ballet etc is any less ritualized.
It's slice of life comedy for Japanese octogenarians.
As for the show, it was just really well made.
