How did we go from this

to this?
Nice bait. But not really.

Not OP, but last chapter did look like ass.
Here's to hoping Miura uses the hiatus to get properly used to digital drawing and unfucks his art.
Basically 1 guy can't be expected to keep up the exact same art style and story telling for 28 years.

One would expect him to get better, not worse.
>>147619409
How does that make sense?
>>147619505
How does it not
>>147619505
Because most humans get better through repetition and practice.

Maybe there's not a lot of examples but I don't know any non-jojo manga that ran this long, kept up fairly regular updates, and stay roughly the same quality or better as its peak.

Most of the times decrease in quality on long-running series is due to overstylization and simplification of the art, not decrease in skill. Kenshin is a blatant example of this. Jojo is a different beast, Araki has had some crazy ups and downs with his art quality.
In Berserk's case, it seems to be a bit of this, but the wonky-ass proportions and anatomy are not consistent with that pattern. If I had to guess, I'd say his switch to digital is giving him trouble.
What's amazing is if i show other people the 2nd page they wouldn't have guessed the same artist drew the 1st page.
