The first half was great. The second not so much, but Mashiro is love and seeing her developed made it enjoyable still. The fact she'll win makes the whole thing sweet.

They dragged on the plot for waay too long. This was a story that could have been told in 12 episodes + an OVA. Short and sweet is the way to go with these sorts of shows.

The anime wanted you to get off your lazy ass and accomplish things instead of giving you escapism.
Also it shows life just isn't fucking fair, hence Nanami
