What was the last anime you watched on VHS?

A friend gave me a single vhs of DBZ for my birthday one year and that is still the only vhs of anime I've ever owned. I got and want a few DVD sets of anime now, the kinda stuff that will never get HD remaster.

Evangelion death and rebirth which I recorded off SBS one night for a friend, I had no clue what the show was about at the time and kind of got traumatized a little.
First Pokemon movie, about 15 years ago probably

Sometimes I forget how young /a/ is. I don't know what I expected.
I wish the Lain VHS box set wasn't so expensive.

One of the Space Battleship Yamato films. Back when Blockbuster was still a thing.

OP is asking about last anime, not the first.
DYRL recorded from latenight tv
those were the times

I have a dumb, that was the first one i watched from vhs.
The last one was i think Gunsmith Cats or BlackMagic m66
>>147241075
Probably either a Pokemon movie or Kimba.
I still have a couple of Season 1 Pokemon VHS.
It's a bit of a treasure for me because one of them contains the infamous episode where Brock makes everyone Onigiri but localization changed them to "jelly doughnuts" because kids asking their parents what a "rice ball" is would clearly destroy American values.

Legit Japanese copy of EoE with fansubs added.
>>147241075
Kimba the White Lion.
>>147242968
"young" people don't even know what vhs is you faggot
>>147241075
Pokemon movie about a Man who turned into Entei.
Probably some toonami crap since I used to record them and watch them later.

>I'm not young, they are young!
This is Otakudom.
>>147249837
It was inferior to Beta!
The last "new show" for me on VHS was Cyberteam in Akihabara.
The last one overall was rewatching some tv airings of Saber Marionette J.
>>147250110
In no way, it could be set the record more with lower quality and that meant keeping a full match in a single casette. People like bringing up the porn thing but it's just a funny coincidence, Beta was already not that big in japan.
Beta was still used into the 2ks.
Giant Robo
I have the first few episodes of Tenchi Universe, Tenchi in Tokyo, and The Second Movie on VHS. Birthday present. Still have them somewhere around here.
Had a Pokemon cake too. Drove the Bitches crazy.
Also recorded the DBZ movies on VHS when they aired on Toonami.
I still watch my imported VHS tapes of NGE just for the novelty.
>>147251650
>still
>novelty
I don't follow.
>>147251689
I'm afraid I don't understand. Every once in while I'll pop them into the VCR and just leave them playing in the background because I like the aesthetic of old, well-watched tapes. It's calming.
>>147241075
How can those tapes float!!!
>>147251783
Novelty describes something new.

Stop posting, grandpa, it's not good for your blood pressure.
Martian Successor Nadesico about 15 years ago
Good times

He's right, though. VHS' death is no longer a recent event. If >>147242302 was a Pokemon kiddie 15 years ago, he could be in his late 20s by now. Which is still young by some perspectives, but I highly doubt anyone in this thread is in their 50s or something, so it's moot.
