This is the only thing that actually interest me about the game... the fact that the adventure takes them like 10 years or so and they stop being kids.

But seriously the flying car, grocery shopping, camping and removing lettuce from the hamburgers looks ridiculous and boring...

The battle system looks kind of boring too.

While this is true the core party is solid and presented enough variation and dept.

FF XV party looks like a boy band with no personality other than the archetypes they are supposed to represent.

I do get that it's more realistic to think that in that kind of trip a MC is gonna be accompanied by trusted friends, aids and advisors and all that but one of the most interesting things about adventures is knowing new people (characters in this case) and having their paths forcibly intertwine, specially when they don't get along and end up bonding.

Here there are bonds already... that just looks boring to me.

Noctis is 20 (a few months short of 21) at the beginning of the game and the game takes place over 10 years. So if he actually ends up living through all those years, he'll be 30 by the time the game ends. The crystal torture dungeon and his own powers might age him faster, though.

You're wrong about the archetypes, though. Prompto may look like a genki guy, but he's actually very gentle, sensitive and caring guy. Gladio looks like a chill big bro type, but he's also rather narrow-minded, quick to anger, and can be prejudiced. Ignis looks like a cool intellectual, but he's very caring, deeply attached to Noctis, somewhat awkward, and generally a motherly type. And Noctis himself has no archetype at all - he's thoughtful, perceptive, somewhat arrogant, deeply stressed, but also fun-loving and quite a smart-ass.

We saw him struggle with it when he was 15, but he simply has no choice and he knows it.

tabata has always been co-directing it, Nomura only recently left. Nomura still has the biggest stake in the game and the story was probably finished a while before he left

Nomura barely did anything after the game got rebranded, and Tabata did comment one of his job after the name change was to make the game one complete story instead of the plans they had for Versus XIII of leaving room for sequels
Aside from key elements pretty much everything we've seen from Versus isn't in XV anymore

Is the movie any good? I still have to watch it, but I guess I'll wait until the game comes out.

It's alright, the acting of the secondary characters is pretty cringe and the first 30 or 40 minutes is kinda boring but the action is cool, especially torwards the end
Also you definitively have to watch it with the intention of playing the game, 'cause a lot of stuff in the story is left unresolved and kinda confusing for obvious reasons
