Most of the arcs and the general story line that it focused on were stupid.
The near NTR bait was stupid.
Rikka "losing" and then "regaining" her chuuni powers was stupid.
Yuuta and Rikka's "will they or won't they"-subplot was stupid.
And Satone falling for Yuuta late in the season giving us that ridiculous love triangle arc was stupid.

Plus there's the fact that stories usually become more boring after the main couple gets together, but things were just made considerably worse when you add onto that the fact that Yuuta and Rikka were a pretty shitty couple from the get go. The show would have been better if they were forced more to the background and the story focused more on Shinka and Deko.

Also, they really shouldn't have given Isshiki the treatment they did. He wasn't my favorite character or anything, but his presence was a good source of comedy and in general just brought something to the show.

I agree and disagree. I think all of them could have been dialed back to allow for more development of the main 2, but the only one I wish wasn't in the main cast was Shinra. She really felt like she only existed to cause conflict and impede progress. S2 Shinka is better but mainly because she changed from being an annoying character to a somewhat more fun, albeit /u/pandering(which is always shit), character since Saotome became the fucking annoying one.

But one shouldn't expect progress in any KyoAni show, they are practically visual versions of candy in that they are all fluff no substance with few exceptions.

S2 was jammed to the gills with filler bullshit. They could have knocked out all of the important stuff in the 2nd volume in 3 episodes tops even considering how much they changed from the source, but they still couldn't even do that. Yuuta and Rika's relationship went from endearing to irritating due no new developments and the two of them squabbling for a majority of the season.

If a third season is made, it should just focus on Dekomori and Shinka. They were the best part about S2 anyway.
