Hanekawa is always interesting. It's why the Nips love her as a narrator over everyone else, she can be funny without wasting 80 pages on random references.

And how was she not in Nise? We get snips of the interesting relationship she and Gahara have, and in the same time interval, we see in Tsubasa Song that she is attempting to deal with her stress(which was much more than just about Araragi), even though there is really nothing she can do besides leave home and suck up the crap she went through with abuse and neglect, that people shunned her when she informed them if said neglect, and that it was ultimately a waste trying to get along with her stepparents all those years. Which we see in Tiger, the epilogue, and beyond.

This is only something you see from people who think the sawarineko is the only interesting part of her. And guess what? Black Hanekawa is significantly lower on the popularity poll than she is, and regular Hanekawa gets as much if not more doujins and fanart as her regular self than her feline alter ego. It's like how some would make the argument for FSN that Dark Sakura makes Sakura popular, when you several facts that counteract it.
