Turned down the volume and thought about how annoying she was. Whole thing about it being the first take is still impressive though, regardless of what I thought.

i thought "that was a bit much considering the severity of what's she's saying and how over the top it is, but I guess they wanted an "emotional" moment"

In retrospect it is a moment just for the voice acting, but in the actual show it was like she was trying to manipulate him with this tantrum instead of make some heartfelt appeal.

She tried so hard and got so far

Enjoyable to see a girl finally get sick of an MC's bullshit instead of just accepting it with an exasperated smile like "Ohh MC-kun, always going and embarassing me in public, ruining my relationships with others." like in every other harem ever. Granted, it didn't actually lead anywhere, but it was very nice for the 10 minutes it lasted.

The best part is that literally everyone forgets it after a while and the show goes on.

I might have to rewatch the scene and the episode, but did she not lay into him as if a lot of it was his fault? Like his chuuni was preventing her from connecting so she wanted him to grow up? IIRC, then I think she is pretty selfish for taking out her own issues on him and maybe it just reminds me too much of how a 3D girl would act. Just cry and pout instead of communicate, all while complaining about lack of communication.

Really I have to watch the episode again but its not like she's a horrible person for it or anything. Just from the set up it can seem like she's really just trying to change someone to fit her ideal version of him.

MC is faux idiot pretending more than anything. He's mature, sometimes more than even Sayumi. That isn't to say he doesn't have a heart of a chuuni and enjoys it because it's fun/cool, but he's considerate and thought out a plan to use chuunibyou as a way to help the girls cope with having powers and of their own separate issues. When the situation warrants it, he drops the chuuni and gets completely serious, other times he straights up uses it to cheer up or helps solve an issue.
