One problem with the new episode: Why did he cut off his arm? couldn't he just launch SHA and run away, only cutting it off when they actually stop it? Had Josuke not healed the hand, it would die soon enough, stopping SHA. So some time could be wasted and if not, HE GOT HIS ARM CUT OFF. Also they could get a DNA scan off his hand, something Cinderella wouldn't be able to fix

They actually added a scene in the anime in the Cinderella episode that showed him noticing the Salon and hearing what Aya told Yukako, add that plus the fact he knew Aya was a Stand user and how he must have been desperate as all hell to get out of that situation, it makes sense for him to go to the salon as a last-ditch effort that actually worked out for him.

Not everyone in JoJo is a full-on hero willing to die for what's right, have you ever seen what people do in desperate situations to die? Aya was just a normal salon owner with a Stand, she didn't actively search for Kira or try and fight him because she's not suited for it, it makes perfect sense that she'd change his identity under being threatened of death, when you're in a situation like her the majority of people would do the same thing so there'd be a thin chance for them to be able to survive.

He used SHA as a distraction to keep them busy while he ran away, and in the case that Koichi wakes up and uses Act 3 on SHA then since he cut his hand off he wouldn't be slowed down at all, he needed all the time he could get to get to Cinderella and have his face changed.

What I'm trying to say is that he didn't even know that Josuke could've returned SHA back to his hand and have his severed hand used against him so there was no way for him to cut his hand off later when it SHA was slowed down by Act 3 because he used SHA to cover his escape in the first place.

It works as more of an educated guess, when you live in a town full of Stand users and you hear one has a Salon that can pretty much change how you look, you piece one and one together. Plus you have to take into account how desperate Kira must have been in this situation, he'd have nowhere else to fuck off to, so why not use a last-ditch effort to head to Cinderella's, which, luckily enough for him turned out to be the right choice.

Yes, it all depends on the character's spirit themselves though. Aya's clearly not the type to fight, given her high blood pressure and pretty normal career choice, did you forget how she didn't even attempt to fight Yukako back when Yukako pretty much was aiming to kill her? Once again, have you ever seen how people act under desperate situations like the one Aya was in? Of course she knew he was a murderer and she probably figured she was going to be killed, but people in real life who have been in similar situations (People who are being robbed at gunpoint for example) still give into the robber's demands despite knowing they have a likely chance of being killed, the same applies here for Aya, she was desperate as hell to actually survive and wanted to take any chance she could of getting out alive, no normal person would just accept their death unless they're your average shounen hero, which Aya was not.

Call DP bad all you want but they've made very smart decisions with pretty much ALL the changes/additions they've made for the adaptation.

The wacky SoL aspect is what makes it a fan favorite though, it works surprisingly well for JoJo because it's fun as hell. Stuff like Let's Fuck The Italian is amazing to watch, and seeing the characters have so much life to them like Josuke and Okuyasu makes it easy to enjoy the part.

Though I have to admit the 2nd half is my absolute favorite portion of the part, my hype was killed with Quiet Life 1's QUALITY but the last 3 epsiodes had a fucking admirable amount of B U D G E T and I've never felt more excited to watch the show than I have now. Fucking godspeed DP, if they manage their budget this well and we get a 10/10 finale unlike DIO's World this will truly be their best adaptation.

Can anyone explain to me what, exactly, was DIO's rationale for which of his minions got flesh budded and which ones didn't?

Given that Grey Fly didn't have a flesh bud, and Hol Horse was obviously acting under his own will, it seems fair to assume that all the hired mercenaries were bud-free. I'm assuming that DIO knew he could take down any of these mercenaries easily in the event that they chose to betray him (Hol Horse), but shouldn't he have been more worried about the possibility of them leaking information without a bud to stop them? A case in point: Rubber Soul, who DID tell Jotaro sensitive information about J. Geil and Hanged Man.

Contrast that to Enya, who was loyal to her death and still got finished off by a flesh bud. Frankly I don't blame her for not expecting DIO to bud her. She taught him about the standos, gave him the arrows and seemed to have a genuinely trusting master / protege relationship with him. She should've been an ally on the level of Pucci and yet she still got a bud.

Did DIO really trust Hol Horse more than he trusted Enya?
