There's been a shitload of good discussion about lucky star, anon. That's a bad example because it's popular. Anyway, it's not like all the discussion on /a/ is 100% on-topic, or an exchange of insightful essays about whatever anime the thread is about. It's just a bunch of neckbeards in a room with a spice of uncertainty thanks to anonymity. There isn't really anything that gives the same experience yet.

This happened a lot with Luluco (to point out a recent example). There was no point to using HS when GCM, with superior quality and typesetting, was there.

Doki's subs for New Game are also better, but nobody seems to really care now.

You shouldn't care about HS because they're useful as speed subs from CR and the obvious of it being free. Then good BD batches are made later from whatever slow sub group is working on it which is also, free.

The only thing that bothers me are Funi rips with streaming quality encoding and hard subs.
