>>
>>146889050
It's doing fine.

But you know how it is with those young anons. Every Gundam sucks. Every new shounen magazine action series sucks. This new anime sucks. Sales are bad, and if you like it, you're bad and must kill yourself. Everything sucks, stop liking it, you suck. To prove it that you suck, I will twist everything to somehow make it look like it sucks. I will spend 24 hours a day on the internet to prove that it sucks. And if it doesn't suck, I will just repeat that it sucks as constantly as possible until enough believe me that it sucks too. Life sucks. Everything sucks.

Not that guy, but 100,000 isn't exactly all that impressive. It's lackluster at best

Moderate is about 300,000

Decent is about 400,000-500,000 K

Good is about 600,000-700,000

Great is about 800,000

and Holy shit, is
1,000,000+ copies

Why do you think manga like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece all sold between the decent to HOLY SHIT levels?
>>
>>146889030
Bleach was born near the end of the western anime boom, so it got a loyal gaijin following

You know not that many manga sell within this range right? The amount of manga that sells over 500k in Jump's current lineup is 3. No manga from Shounen Magazine and Sunday sells over 600k anymore and Sunday? Conan is their best selling title and it only sells slightly above 500k.

One Piece, Naruto and Bleach (until Winter War) were exceptions.
>>
>>146889341
Skewed perspective. More than 90% of all manga never sell 100k in their lifetime.

2001 isn't exactly near the end. 2004-2005 was the end. It was between 1997-2005 where the boom happened.

Plus that doesn't stop it from absolutely destroying MhA in the sales. ESPECIALLY since WSJ's rankings are messed up and are complete opposites

>>146889445
100,000 isn't all that impressive though when you are fighting for a spot at the top with 19 other manga.

>>146889485
That's now WSJ's sales work though. Especially since that's more or less of the 'big leagues'.

This. Only half of WSJ currently sells over 100k per volume. And this is because WSJ is the best selling magazine and full of anomalies. If you hit 100k a volume in the first week, you're a success.

Here's Magazine. Most of its series don't even come close to what WSJ gets.

But then by your logic, Bleach never had a fall, nor did Naruto, nor did any other manga that sells in the top 50.

As long as you don't drop to 51 or below, you have not quality drop. See? That's the problem. The logic doesn't work when you apply it to what people believe the quality of the manga is.

Just so you know we won't actually see the fruits of its boost for another few volumes. All we have to go by now is that Shuiesha recently increased the print run last volume because it ran out of stock so if it seems its not selling well to some people its mainly because its print run isn't as big as say Naruto, this current volume had the best debut of the series thus far considering it was out for only 3 days and increased by 10k from the previous volume so its still keeping a steady hold despite what nay naysayers say. Hilariously enough is that SnK sold more than One Piece 10 volumes in but OP didn't have the same print run SnK has back then so its a moot comparison.

Which is an irrelevant note to bring up since that was a decade ago and the fact that the series is still young at this point (Bleach was selling 400 to 500k 10 volumes in). To say that it'll never reach Bleach in is prime, when Bleach took years to sell those numbers and even less time to lose them, seems unethical
>>
>>146890929
>after the first few chapters
More like after the first volume sold out and no anime production can start as early as that but when its released is an entirely different story and doesn't change the fucking fact that HxH got an anime only 6 months after the first volume was released.
>>
>>146890961
Below 1 million mark. But sales with 20 vol: 10 million.
>>
>>146890934
No, you can still have a quality drop and have the sales drop as well. That's entirely possible. What you have to do is look at whether or not a product has a form of consistency in a franchise or not.

Take say Final Fantasy for example:

FF7: 10 million
Crisis Core: 2.57 million
Advent Children: 2.6 million + Ticket sales
Dirge of Cerberus: 1.2 million

FF10: 6.7 million
FF10-2: 3.4 million

FF13: 6.2 million
FF13-2: 3.1 million
LR-FF13: 1.4 million

See? There is a consistnecy

>>146891034
But if the manga was selling 400,000 to 500,000 copies in by volume 10, then that still means it was selling more than MhA though.
>>
>>146891183
>No, you can still have a quality drop and have the sales drop as well.

Most of the manga sales that I've seen of MhA went and only sold 200,000 to 250,000. It's been growing as of recent, but no way has it gotten to 500,000 to 600,000. I believe that it's close to 400,000 at best now, but it's nowhere near what you have projected.
>>
>>146891183
That has less to do with quality drop and more to do with the fact that all those titles came out on different time periods on different consoles and weren't all the same mechanics.
>>
>>146891183
The point people have been trying to tell you is that the threshold number of sales of a successful manga is way lower than what you think it is. 100k is not lackluster. Even if WSJ has had series that have sold way better, 100k is still far above the majority of manga.

Are you genuinely retarded? Naruto is the only one to reach that level of popularity but you can't deny Bleach has great influence in the west, same as One Piece(even though this is more recent since OP was butchered back then and only got popular a couple years ago, matching Bleach)

Bleach never lost popularity in the west, have you seen the recent shitstorm? it's NaruSaku all over again, hell Bleachfags are still crying too.

Yeah. The anime and bleach shwag it spawned really was the greatest selling point of Bleach.

Should not have let the anime folk talk him into giving up his hell arc for a movie. Ah well.

To be honest.
The bleach anime and movies make OP and Naruto's anime and movies look awful. Kubo REALLY should have given up the manga a while ago and just threw in with the anime guys.
Design characters, give them personalities, and consult while real writers and the anime people flesh his stuff out. Bleach would still be highly influentual right now if he went with this.
