One of my favorite anime. The manga ending got a knee-jerk reaction out of me when I heard about it but I've never actually read it. I suspect a lot of people who are really angry about it haven't read the manga, so I like to think it was handled in as nuanced and mature a manner as the rest of it. I still really don't like the direction it takes from what I hear, so I'll just enjoy the anime as it is.
