Many of this is secondary benefits Enel also have.
He can fly, or even teleport like lighting.

He can hear whispers from far away (not sure if this was fruit related)

Aokiji can bicycle on the oceans.
Akainu can travel across the planet by taking shortcut through the inner planet.

I think she just got confused and scared by the responsibility of marriage and ran away from BM for a while to think things over. We don't know her age, but I think she's still under 20. She might be ugly as sin but don't let that confuse you, she is still most likely pretty young.
During her trip she felt bad because she loved her mother, so she tried to make up for that by finding a husband by herself. I don't think she was rebeling against BM to try to make a point, she did the husband search out of guilt and responsibility. But she most likely failed at that on her own becaue she was too forward. She went back to BM and she forgave Lola.
I'm guessing that during the TS her mother found Lola a husband with whom she's happy with now. Her little adventure was the selfish decision of a spoiled brat and she regrets it to a degree, but she matured a lot thanks to it, so she's now happy she'd done that.

But that's usually what motivates those theories, people like talking romance, but also get wrapped up in selling their own theories before logical tunnage.

People often think they see patterns in seemingly mundane things, as hints of one thing or another, especially in stuff not connected. I come from /co/ and the pairing of Zutara got that a lot. The problem with that is that it's not really how people writes stories, and it's not really how people even write symbolism. Indicating a shift in power for instance by having a scene where Character A is standing above Character B, and then switching positions after a change in story some years later, that's a good symbolic queue of how actions have changed. But stuff like 'Red and Blue everywhere, that means Zuko and Katara love each other' is an obviously ridiculous approach, because pairing Red and Blue colors is just a natural thing that happens. I assume that's what you mean when you talking about 'teasing it'.

And hell, NaruSaku isn't the worst idea in theory. Naruto's goal for years was to impress and date Sakura, because he had a proper crush. And she was growing respect for Naruto, which had the potential to open up deeper feelings for him. But Sakura was her own person, and respect doesn't mean capitulation to his desires over hers. And yeah, pairing up with Hinata was equally one-sided, but Naruto also had built a friendship with Hinata in the same time-frame, and was more open than Sakura was to his advances. Ignorance isn't the same as refusal, so there was no indication he was going to tell Hinata no. Though even I'll admit, it was pretty stupid that she confesses to him, and then nothing happens five years. If Naruto didn't remember I can see why, but he clearly did and was just putting it off until the big battle.

Kishi didn't betray anyone, he's just not that good at writing romance. It doesn't mean NaruSaku fans were justified, but I can still admit, Kishi did drop the ball with exploring NaruHina. Hell, bringing it back to Avatar, Kataang was equally hamhanded in the end.

I see it more as unfortunate, since they probably don't have many real-life friendships to compare to. 'Nice Guys finish Last' follows the same sort of problem, socially isolated people assume friendship is the key to sexual gratification, and get upset when looks and charm are far more important for release. Often these guys aren't really looking to expand companionship, they just want to not feel so inadequate as virgins, and when they get sex they might find it's not really all that big of a thing, and go right back to being content with their introversion.

Happened to me too, I used to feel ashamed about being a virgin growing up, like I was too nerdy, or I was being outclassed or I was just unlovable. Then five years ago, I actually did it, and realized I didn't really need it in my life to feel complete. Not to get gross, but the sexual gratification wasn't any better than just masturbating, in fact it was worse, and I'm not a super-social person normally.

And yet I realize there's no way I could explain how it doesn't matter to others who've never tried it, or even myself. Certain parts of your life can seem horrifying or wonderous if you've never tried them, and when the averageness hits you, you're also struck with how you couldn't possibly explain it to anyone who's never tried it. There's really no way to teach this in theory, most people just need life experience to get the right burns, to check the right boxes to work through certain emotional knots. You've got to get too emotionally attached to something to understand how to control yourself. You've got to have the context of social circumstances to understand which of them you really want. No one wants their favorite weekly comic to end, they want to read it every week. No one wants to know that their favorite characters went on and lived relatively mundane lives not worth drawing/writing about after the fun adventure was over, they want to think the adventure never ends. It's not Moby Dick, where you're reading it to see what happens when they finally fight the whale, you read it for the comedy, drama, action and adventure. It wouldn't matter if it was Mihawk using a shitty sword. Which is why he said Zoro's sword wouldn'tbreak if he had Haki. Presumably really fucking good Haki. But if someone with a T1 sword and the same Buso as Zoro hits the Kitetsu, it will break. Because the Kitetsu is still a shit tier sword and if two people with the same level of Haki attack then ut's the same as no haki being used.

Fishman Island was fucking boring while it was happening, but I personally love the concept of Hody Jones, as well as Fisher Tiger's backstory.

Fisher Tiger was a hero who incidentally saved humans, but he had seen how racist humans can be and was in return racist back towards them. He tried to suppress it for so long, but in the end, after allowing himself to love a human being and then being betrayed by humans once again, he was lying there crying, bleeding all over the place, and he couldn't accept their fucking blood being in his blood. He'd rather die. He hates the fact that he feels that way, but he's been too conditioned by his experiences, and all he can do is give them a warning that if they want all this racism to end, they need to not pass their hatred onto the younger generations who would otherwise be oblivious of the history.

It's a powerful message that I'm sure liberal Americans would fucking hemorrhage over if they heard it, but it's kinda' true. The cycle of hatred can't end until you stop spreading it, and you don't need to be a violent criminal to spread hate.

And so Hody Jones is the result of Fisher Tiger's warning not being heeded. He's caused all these problems and he's threatening to kill absolutely everyone, and they just have to know what his fucking problem is; what did humans do to him to cause him to be this fucking hateful? Nothing. He's been brainwashed by the stories of poor human-fishman relations and doesn't want the dead to be "forgotten."

In the end, it's a human's violence which they think is the only solution, but this is ultimately supplanted by a fishman's willingness to forgive for the sake of peace.

I think it's really powerful. On a whole, it might be the most powerful One Piece arc. It just so happens that Oda told this story in an arc where the Straw Hats were fighting people 100 years too early to challenge them and we weren't invested at all in their fucking people.

That's a good point. It actually makes me wonder if when Shanks stopped Kaidou from attacking Whitebeard, if it actually wasn't "Kaidou's crew" but literally just Kaidou himself. He just seems to go around on his own doing whatever the fuck he wants. Unlike Shanks whose crew is all on one ship or Big Mom who's like the don of a giant mob, Kaidou and his commanders are like the chaotic forces of nature.

I have a lot of respect for anyone who has an idea that they're super passionate about and they create some form of art in an attempt to convey that idea to others. These people sometimes are and sometimes aren't paid for their contributions; you need money to live and someone is capable of creating more art without a job getting in their way.

On the other hand, I don't have any respect for products made to cash in on somebody else's idea, replacing a work of passion with a work for a paycheck, and not attempting to communicate any idea other than brand recognition.

When I was a teenager, I was just starting to accept that anime might not be gay and I watched Gantz. It was pretty fucking cool, but the ending was so bizarre and it just left me wanting more. I was, in some way, traumatized to discover the anime was based on a manga and the manga was still going. From that point on, I guess I became allergic to anything that isn't explicitly "canon." I read all of Naruto; you couldn't pay me to read Boruto. I like the original Star Wars movies; I will die before I read the now-defunct EU. They're just fanfiction. I might as well write something on my own if the author no longer matters.

So I have not seen any of the One Piece movies or filler arcs and I only watch the anime to see if they adapt the manga well. I also don't play any of the games, 'cause it takes a lot for me to play a video game these days. I'd rather just watch people better than me play. But a game like Burning Blood, which is a shallow fighting game with none of the inherent mechanical intricacies of typical fighting games made to make money off dumb anime fans who'll buy anything with their favorite characters in it, or Kaizoku Musou, after I spent probably 500 hours of my adolescence playing Dynasty Warriors and it kinda' looks like shit anyways, can go in a trash can.

I love One Piece, too. I think about it all the time. Oda's One Piece is fantastic. Oda's is.
