Not him, but yes I also saw the Nips on twitter losing it about what Hayate's seiyuu said on the interview. I can't read moonrunes so for the few I cound understand he said to watch the ending of the anime and see what happens. It heavily implied that Hayate has feelings for Freyja and once the war ends, he will probably act on them.

And it kinda connects to what the anon said about the scriptwriter, which is that they threw romance in but they wanted to make them pull apart and not focus on it because of the plot and the heavy stuff going on. And not to have winners and losers so early or something.

Getting rid of Mirage, focusing on Freyja and Hayate's relationship altogether, continuing the pacing of the first half to the end and perhaps even making things even faster with no down time at all.

These things would fix Delta and make it the best Macross TV series ever, surpassing even the glory of 7. Yes, or no?

No, not by a long shot. But it'd help. Poor pacing in the second cour and a triangle that seems entirely unnecessary and to the detriment of all three characters involved in it are two of the bigger problems in Delta.

She was, sky end is mostly a meme. But it's still easy to understand why people were upset at not getting a more clear cut resolution to that part of the story even before you take into account that they'd just spent half a year knee deep in group think and shipping wars.
