I remember owning a pair of roller skates and putting them on.
2 minutes later I took them off because they were difficult to use. They disappeared in the cellar and we never spoke of them again.

I know it's not the same, but if you want to swerve around on wheels the Ripstik is actually pretty fun. I own a spin-off model, ripsurf, and swerving through town at 1AM listening to Initial D is an amazing experience.
People might make fun of you if you're fat or something, but in my town many people ride them around so nobody cares. I usually get curious teenagers asking about my model.
