Ordered one from Amazon.com, and another a little later from Amazon.de because it was cheaper, with quicker shipping.
If both come through, maybe I'll cancel one. Maybe I'll keep it, or gift it to a friend.
Someone else suggested the /a/ secret santa thing, so that's a possibility too.

Is right stuf pretty reliable as far as pre orders go? Might cancel my Amazon pre order

I'm really torn on this. One one hand, I want to buy as much English S&W swag as possible. On the other, I'm poor and I already have all 17 novels, including many that are important to me because they were gifts.

Someone with a Twitter ask about availability and if they allotted a certain number of pre orders per retailer or if some people just might not get one

I'm not even sure if they could have done it, but I would have preferred an English version of the artbook instead. It barely has any text and it costs roughly this much to purchase the Japanese edition.

It's just different marketing strategies if I understand correctly. I think Amazon will generally first list a product at the publisher's recommended selling price and bring it down as it nears release date, while Rightstuff just lists it at the price they will sell it at the beginning.

Just so you know, most online retailers only charge you on a preordered item's release date. I currently have preordered on both Amazon and Right Stuff, and am waiting to see which one is cheaper or is cancelled due to limited stock at release date. You might want to reorder from Amazon as there is no real risk to you.

I preordered Sora no Woto from RightStuf for $50 way back when, and on the release/shipping day the price on their site dropped to $29.99 but they still charged me $50. I did get a refund after I complained but that's kind of a cheap trick.

I was trying to locate this on my clusterfuck of screnncap folder yesterday but couldn't.
Just found it by accident today.
That's the oldest mention of korbo on /k/ that I know of. Pretty sure it started with that then later spiked in popularity when anons started posting pics with novels.

Does this have any extra/different content? Trying to see if there's a reason to buy if I already have all the books.

Ended up ordering both the Amazon and Rightstuf for the Collector's Edition. If the Rightstuf one comes though I'll cancel the Amazon one assuming they don't drop the price. At worst I end up with two and sell one of them in about two years for likely double the price.

Nice to see a slight resurgence of S&W threads even if it's only for book purchases.

But I don't think that I will get a copy, it's #1 in the historical (har har) fantasy novels and #7 in the foreign books rankings here too.

No way in hell that they can fulfill all orders with only 2000 copies.
