Kyoukai no Kanata is pretty overdesigned and a tad too blobby. Koe no Katachi has the better color palette too.

Koe no Katachi's color palette does look very good from the official art, but we'll have to wait for the full movie to actually judge the palette properly. Still, Kyoukai no Kanata handles color very very well, even though it changes in different episodes with different themes (and different titles that reference the color theme for the episode). Still, Kyoukai is very pink and warm to me, while Koe no Katachi looks to be more blue and cool. I think the latter feels refreshing, while the former can feel suffocating, but it still looks beautiful most of the time.
