>High Elf Archer comes to ask for help because goblins have become more active around the elves' forest, thanks to the revival of the demon king. The party goes to the ruins and eventually find a large number of goblins. They manage to kill all of them without a sweat due to Dwarf Shaman's "Drunk" and Priestess' "Silence" spells.
>On the way back however, they run into an ogre (the goblins were sent to him by the demon king). GS doesn't know what an ogre is. The ogre throws fire magic at the party and the Priestess barely manages to save them with her "Protection (Holy Wall)". However she overexerts herself in the process. Lizard Priest uses Dragon Tooth Warriors but they ultimately prove to be futile.
>The ogre's regenerative abilities are too much for the party and he struggles off Elf's arrows and Dwarf's "Stone Blast". GS gets hit badly by the ogre. The rest of party desperately try to fight against the monster. GS drinks heal and stamina potions. He tells Elf that he has a plan and charges at the ogre while everyone else covers him. Ogre tries to cast his fire magic again, but nothing happens.

We have the words and the context, but only have speculation on GS's personality and intentions when saying it.
What we can assume is GS doesn't care for anything other than goblin slaying, so perhaps he was just confirming the enemy wasn't his usual hunt.
If so, in order to get rid of an unknown enemy quickly, he spent a scroll to resolve it vs his noraml tactic against goblins.
He could also have said it in a demeaning tone to pose the threat was inferior than a goblin, like saying "oh its not important?"

Took the artifact out of the realm of Dragonlance with that exact trick, with us along with it to the celestial planes
By divine law however we could never return to the realm of Dragonlance, but our characters found a nice place to retire to, at level 2.

Our GM was slack jawed, because ultimately that was the exact destination it was meant to go to take it away from Takhisis.

Yes.
This is D&D. Gaining levels means your stats go massivly up.
Remember that Goblin Shaman in Chapter 2? It survived being impaled, and pretended to stay dead
Its also the matter of gear. Sure +2 and +3 armor isn't that much better than +1 armor, but there is also armor tiers on the top of that.
Goblin slayer goes trough +0 weapons like butter, because he doesn't salvage them. A +1 or +2 weapon wouldn't need to be swapped.

In chapter 2, GS says that the cave Priestess's party was sent to clear out would have soon had 50 Gobbos, up from 22. Assuming there are no female Gobbos and they rely on demihuman women (hence their penchant for kidnapping and rape), the five women including Monk Girl would have needed to give birth to at least five Gobbo children each.
Then in chapter 4, GS mentions that it's been to long and the captives and adventurers are already dead, but the Gobbo on lookout is still eating the finger he was given and the Gobbos are still enjoying the spoils. Giving it the generous assumption that a full night has passed, we can give captives a rough lifespan of twelve hours.
So for Monk Girl & others to more than double the population of the cave in chapter 2, they'd each be having to pop out a new Gobbo every 2.5 hours, or alternatively a batch of five Gobbos in twelve. Given that there were four baby Gobbos corresponding to four live captives before Monk Girl, it's likely the two-hour gestation period.

After three days, her body no longer resembles that of a human's. The things the goblins had done to her before they threw body into the river were too much to put into words.
I guess this answers the questions everyone was having about chapter 4. They burned the elf mage, and ate the human cleric. They didn't care for the girls because they were planing to raid the nearby village so they decided not to hold right before.
