How many GB's worth of anime do you have on your pc?
bait
If you have under a TB you're smalltime. 2TB isn't even that much either. If you have the space, use it.
>>146342704
Who the fuck needs that much fucking anime? there is a good chance that you will never touch about 98% of it.
>>146342704
I delete all the seasonal shit that I know I won't rewatch
exclude about 300-400gb of music but not including about 100gb on my laptop
none local, a bit over 1.5TB on house fileservers
1.15TB at this time, but I still have a bunch of folders waiting to be filled after I'm done with a few shows.
I use streams and keep my hard drive for other stuff
>>146342492
>having anime, or any other media content such as music, on your pc.
What is nas?
A couple gigs.
>>146343118
I think I've seen this exact display setup on /g/ before, or maybe it was /vg/
>>146342763
Even if you aren't downloading 1080p Coalgirls BD rips, 1-2TB should only land you around 100-200 shows.
Are you saying there's a good chance people won't watch that much? Where do you think you are?
I'm newfag to anime.
About 400 gigs but up until spring I used to just stream.
Very little, I move everything I watched to an external drive
This is just backlog and seasonal
>>146343616
Why would you save that much anime?
>1080p
Why would you save upscales?
Here's all the shit that collected over the years + another 300 GB of the most recent backlog of the last few seasons.
I'll never clear my backlog, god dammit.
>>146343909
You misunderstood me. I meant even if you were downloading 1080p which takes up more space, 1-2TB isn't an inconceivably large amount of anime.
I didn't mean to sound like you should download upscales.
As for why I would download that much, storage is cheap. Why not?
>>146343909
>bd rips
>upscale
literal retard
>>146342492
>that background
You too huh?
>>146343616
First of all, I'm sure I could fit about 700 shows on a tb. Second, it is pointless to keep all the shows that you have already seen, so you can rewatch one of the hundreds of shows you have there or just show off your huge collection.
>all these people saying they stream
THIS PLACE IS DEAD
My current Videos folder says 876GB, but only around 800 of that should be anime.
>>146342704
Retard alert. Quantity can't be quantified with something as simple as Filesize alone. Someone with 500GB can easily have more anime than someone with a full 2TB, depending on which releases they get. I have about 300 full anime series, in about 800GB, because I don't waste space with bloated commie releases or other bullshit.
>>146344217
do you listen to music on youtube?
>>146342492
My fucking eyes.
1.09 TB on my media HDD.
+200 gigs of Gundam, Patlabor, and GGG BDs on my D drive since said HDD is full
>>146344274
nah, I just pity you for being so braindead
So, what's the best maker for HDD's right now?
My old one broke recently, and I really need a new one.
>>146344433
same reason you don't stream music, the quality is terrible when compared
546 GB, and I don't even consider myself an avid watcher, I just grab 2-3 seasonal anime each season, sometimes more and sometimes less.
I delete shit I know for a fact I'll never watch again, but I've also got plenty that are in purgatory.
Why are you retards posting this? You do realize these threads are bait and anyone posting here bragging about TB of stolen shit is going to have their IP checked, and if they're in a country with solid copyright laws like US they'll have someone knocking on their door or sending a lawsuit their way.
>>146344129
>700 shows on a TB
Maybe if you're downloading 480p for every single show or just downloading actual streams. I have about 800 shows across 5TB and I go out of my way to avoid bloated releases.
> it is pointless to keep all the shows that you have already seen
Maybe to you. I'm not about to argue that everyone should store every show they've ever watched, but I like the ability to rewatch scenes in shows, take screencaps, or just scroll through my collection and click on shows I've seen to remember them.
I like doing it and hard drives are cheap. It doesn't seem pointless to me.
>>146344487
>thinking any government gives a fucking shit about that
>>146344433
Future-proofing. Kat.cr is gone, Torrentz.eu is gone, and that's just recently. In a few decades this shit is going to be locked up tight, and by time it happens streaming illegal shit won't be realistic and you're going to have to pay Crunchyroll for limited shit if you want to stream.
The quality is better, the options are better (streams can't have 3 different sub files and dual audio), you can view offline, and if the internet ever dies the only people with anime will be retards that spent thousands on discs and pirates with downloaded copies. I have a spare computer and a 2TB harddrive full of important data in a faraday cage, because eventually there's going to be some EMP (either from weapons or natural shit like sun flares) that wipes most electronics out. That's eventual, even if the chances are low for it happening in our lifetimes.
Like 50GB and that's only because I downloaded Ranma + OVAs. I just delete shit after I watch it, it doesn't really take long to download it again if I want to re-watch and I have no download cap so.
>>146344103
Most 1080p BD rips for TV anime are still upscales, friend.
>>146344565
>Thinking you're immune somehow.
People get sued for thousands of dollars over a few mp3s or a few episodes of One Piece all the time, even when it isn't publicized. Good luck when you get a letter that basically bankrupts you or lands you in jail for a few decades.

Anime is a visual medium. The thing that sets it apart from other mediums is animation. Why would you just pretend that doesn't matter and knowingly get worse quality?
>>146344513
Mind showing off a few folders of your releases? You can do a lot better than that, I strive for good dual audio copies of high quality releases (for archiving purposes), and do a lot better than that.

I won't pretend that a 1080p stream is somehow worse than a 1080p download. There is literally no visible difference between the two. And I am too caught up in the story to observe the pixels.

I stream whenever it's an anime that I don't think I'll remember for the rest of my life. I download when it's a movie, extremely memorable show, or is very pretty. Whenever I download them I just delete them right after anyways.
just over a terabyte (around 3,000 episodes)
but I'm re-downloading most of it because I broke my hard drive and I'm not autistic enough topay for data recovery
>>146350098
You must be.
I keep it all on my NAS, recently deleted quite a bit of garbage I don't intend to ever rewatch and have not even been seeding on AnimeBytes.

>>146351416
I;m not being poor. I'm saving time not downloading something that's twice the size for no reason
>>146351290
Well the same argument can be made about streaming really. At least download 1080p for the shows you love.
Though I was not aware 1080p was twice the size. Though a lot of 2tb hard drives are cheap as shit so it doesn't really matter.

>>146351564
if it's something known for being pretty I'll download in 1080p but between most shows having less than 5 seeders and my wireless card being garbage I don't see the point
About 6TB currently. I used to have god awful internet until I moved to a better location a few years back so about half of that is all in 480p. In the process of redownloading most of it so it will go up by quite a bit.

What I'm always getting out of these threads is that the concept of media hoarding is pretty much dead but that's to be expected with the increase in online streaming services, faster internet speeds and availability of current shows. The necessity of saving and organizing a huge amount of anime aside, I wouldn't perceive anything under 5 TB as much of a collection.
